In Midnight, one of the best ways to farm a specific elemental motes is to mine in the corresponding zone. In this guide we have included Mining farming routes for each of the Midnight Zones so you can target and efficiently farm all of the specific motes you want while mining.
While farming these motes you will also be able to farm Brilliant Silver, Refulgent Copper and Umbral Tin, and also rarely receive Dazzling Thorium.
Mining can be a great source of gold as all of the ore is used for crafting gear, gems and a small amount of consumables.
Which Zone gives which Mote
We have included a table so you know which zone to farm for which mote, and we recommend specializing into the Over-LODED mining specialization so you can farm even more motes. If you want more information you can check our full Mining Profession Guide.
| Ore Modifier | Mote Type | Zone |
| Lightfused | Mote Of Light | Eversong Woods and light areas |
| Wild | Mote Of Wild Magic | Zul’Aman |
| Primal | Mote Of Primal Energy | Harandar |
| Voidbound | Mote Of Pure Void | Voidstorm and void areas |
Eversong Woods
In Eversong Woods we recommend sticking close to the edges of the zone. If you are Horde, be wary of the alliance camp in the south west corner. In general there are a lot of nodes in this zone making it pretty good for farming ore.

Zul’Aman
In Zul’Aman we recommend farming along the edges of the zone. We found a large density of nodes along the southernmost coast. Make sure to mine the orelings in this zone as they can proc finesse leading to a large amount of extra ore.

Harandar
Harandar is the worst zone to mine in. We find that the zone is generally low on ore nodes. However, if you really want Motes of Primal Energy, the route following the outside edge did contain some nodes. We recommend taking herbalism as well, if your goal is to gain Primal Energy motes from gathering, as Harandar has significantly more herb nodes.

Voidstorm
The Voidstorm is the most node rich zone. However, it has a lot of ledges and a high amount of aggressive mobs, which can make it difficult to farm here, and you will need to have completed most of the campaign to access this zone. In addition, overloading nodes here can result in a lot of additional ore and motes.
Be wary of using the portal that spawns from overloading unless you have unlocked Void in the Over-LODED specialization, to get a portal back, as you will usually be moved to Eversong Woods or Zul’Aman.

We hope this guide helped you with some easy farming routes for the new materials in the Midnight Expansion.
