Midnight Cooking Profession Guide: Leveling and Changes

Midnight Cooking Profession Guide: Leveling and Changes

Written by Roguery - 25th February 2026

Midnight cooking is very similar to The War Within, and most of the materials will be gathered through fishing or from beasts. Our cooking guide will help you understand the changes, where to start cooking and a step by step path to level 100 in Midnight Cooking.

Guide Contents:

Cooking Trainer Location

The cooking trainer for Midnight is Sylann, who can be found in the Wayfarer’s Rest in Silvermoon City.

Cooking Changes

Cooking has not received many changes for Midnight, just some simplifications of ingredients.

Only Filleting

In the War Within you had to process all of your raw materials into usable ingredients, and then cook from the ingredients. In Midnight this is only the case for fish, which you make into Thallasian Fillets. The rest you cook as it is. There’s only one type of meat, Practically Pork, and beyond that there’s Plant Protein. This drastically diminishes how much space cooking materials will take in your bags compared to The War Within.

Epic Profession Equipment

All professions will now have access to epic quality profession equipment. The uncommon green gear can still be bought and sold on the AH, while the rare and epic gear is Bind on Pickup and has to be ordered through the work order system.

Midnight Materials Overview

Cooking will use a variety of materials some of which can be purchased from any cooking vendor throughout the Midnight Zones. The rest of the materials will need to be either farmed yourself or purchased from other players on the auction house.

Leveling Midnight Cooking

This section of the guide will take you through all of the things important to level Midnight Cooking, with focus on leveling as fast and as cheap as possible.

Profession Equipment

We recommend purchasing a set of uncommon profession equipment from the auction house before you start cooking. The Hobbyist Rolling Pin and Chef's Bright Linen Cooking Chapeau come with Resourcefulness and crafting speed.

You can enchant the rolling pin with Enchant Tool - Amani Resourcefulness, however this is probably better saved for a rare or epic quality tool. When you upgrade to blue and epic quality gear, we recommend starting with the Rolling Pin, then the Chef’s hat.

List of Materials Required

While we can’t be 100% accurate due to yellow and green skillups not being guaranteed, the following should give you a quick pathway to Midnight Cooking level 100.

Cooking 1 - 30 Spiced Biscuits

To start cooking, visit the trainer and learn a lot of recipes. One of these is Spiced Biscuits, which is the only recipe that only requires vendor materials.

Craft Spiced Biscuits until the recipe turns green at level 30.

Cooking 30 - 45 Felberry Figs

Return to the trainer to learn a bunch of new recipes, including the Felberry Figs recipe, which goes yellow at level 40 and green at 45.

Craft Felberry Figs all the way to level 45.

45 - 65 Hearty Food

From 45 - 65 you can craft hearty food out of the crafts you previously made. If you run out of materials before 65, craft more Spiced Biscuits as it’s the cheapest and easiest recipe.

Craft Hearty Spiced Biscuits and Hearty Felberry Figs until level 65.

65 - 85 Royal Roasts or Impossibly Royal Roasts

At level 65 Midnight Cooking, you can learn the Master Recipes Royal Roast and Impossibly Royal Roast. They use the exact same materials except for either Plant Protein or Practically Pork. Pick whichever you have the most of, or is the cheapest. This recipe goes yellow at 75 and green at 80, but it is also comparatively cheap so we suggest keep making it.

Craft Master Recipes Royal Roast and/or Impossibly Royal Roast until you reach level 85.

85 - 100 Feasts

At this point you will have learnt all of the recipes that you can learn, and you can only really level through making feasts. We recommend crafting either the Blooming Feast or Harrandar Celebration, both of which have much more obtainable materials than the other two feasts available, and both give guaranteed skill ups until 100.

Craft Blooming Feast or Harandar Celebration until you reach 100 Midnight Cooking.

Darkmoon Faire

When Darkmoon Faire is active you can gain 2 skill points by completing a short quest from Stamp Thunderhorn.

We recommend leaving this as late as possible to get the most value out of the increased skill points.

We hope this Cooking Profession leveling guide helped you get started with this crafting profession. For more Midnight content you can check out all of our Midnight Guides.
