How to Unlock the Cozy Sleeping Bag In WoW Forever

Written by Roguery - 3rd October 2026

The Cozy Sleeping Bag is a powerful leveling item in WoW: Forever. It works like a portable inn allowing you to gain rested experience regardless of where you are in the world. In addition, sleeping in the bag will give you a 1% increase to experience gained from all sources, stacking up to 3 times.

Obtaining this item can be a bit of a challenge, especially for Horde characters, because it takes you deep into Alliance zones. In this guide we cover how to unlock the Cozy Sleeping Bag in WoW Forever, detailing the quest locations for both Horde and Alliance, and a few tips and tricks on how to use it.

The Quest Chain to unlock the Cozy Sleeping Bag is slightly different for Horde and Alliance, although they do ultimately have you going to the same locations. We have split the sleeping bag quest chains into their respective factions:

Horde Quest Chain to Unlock the Cozy Sleeping Bag

The Horde version of the quest is much more difficult than the Alliance counterpart, we would recommend being at least level 30, if not higher.

Note: We recommend setting your Hearthstone to Orgrimmar or Undercity.

Step 1 - The Barrens

The Horde starts in the Barrens, just a little south of Camp Taurajo, inside a burnt scouting tower. Inside this tower you will find Burned-Out Remains; interacting with the remains will give you the …and that note you found quest.

The note will have a clue on it telling you the location of the next step.

Step 2 - Westfall

The next step for Horde is to head to Westfall, the best way to get here is take the Zeppelin from just outside Orgrimmar to Grom’gol in Stranglethorn Vale. When you are finished with the loading screen you can jump off the Zeppelin into the Ocean and swim to the southern coast of Westfall.

Once you are in Westfall head to the Alexston Farmstead where you will find a cart wreckage and some more Burned-out Remains.

Interacting with the burned-out remains will let you hand in the quest and collect the new Stepping Stones quest.

Step 3 - Stonetalon Mountains

Now you want to head to Stonetalon Mountains.

Note: We don’t recommend using your hearthstone as it will be much better for the next step.

To get from Westfall to Stonetalon Mountains we recommend just heading to the south of Westfall and swimming back to Grom’gol base; be aware there is hostile Naga in the water near the base. Once at Grom’gol, take the Zeppelin back to Orgrimmar. We are going to assume you already have the flight point to the Crossroads, which we recommend you take from inside Orgrimmar, otherwise you will have to run. From the Crossroads simply follow the path West all the way to Stonetalon Mountains.

In Stonetalon Mountains follow the path past Sun Rock Retreat until you come across a camp in the mountains.

You should be able to hand the quest in and receive the next quest, Scramble.

Step 4 - Stonetalon Mountains

The Scramble quest is very simple. Starting from the camp, head north up the hill and you will see an interactable Mound of Dirt below you on the side of the hill, jump over there, making sure not to fall too far.

Interacting with the mound of dirt will complete the Scramble quest and give you the new Wet Job quest.

Step 5 - Loch Modan

This is where things get a lot more difficult for Horde, as you will need to head to Loch Moadan. The best way we found to get to Loch Modan from Stonetalon Mountains as Horde is to Hearthstone to Undercity or Orgrimmar (then take the Zeppelin from Orgrimmar to Undercity). Then from Undercity run all the way down to Loch Modan.

This run will take around 40 minutes (without a mount), and there are hostile enemies as high as level 60 along the way, so if you are low level you should expect to die a few times. We would also recommend picking up as many flight points as you can along the way; while not useful for this guide, picking them up might save you time in future travels.

Once in Loch Modan be aware there are high level guards patrolling along the dam in the south where we want to go, so you will most likely die to them in the process of getting to the quest hand-in location. Once you are on the dam, you will need to head to the center and drop down onto a ledge below.

When you land on the ledge, you can hand in the Wet Job quest and start the next quest, Eagle’s Fist.

Step 6 - Hillsbrad Foothills

The final step will need you to backtrack to Hillsbrad Foothills.

Note: The closest Horde flight point is in Badlands. If you are not at least 30 or higher, we don’t recommend going to grab this, and instead you should head back through the Wetlands, into Arathi Highlands and finally Hillsbrad Foothills.

Once you enter Hillsbrad Foothills, turn right and follow the wall. You will find a gap in the wall and a broken down cart, using this cart you will be able to do a small jumping puzzle to get on to the wall.

Once you are on top of the wall, there will be a bag where you can hand in the Eagle’s Fist quest and receive the final quest, This Must be the Place. Clicking on the scroll next to the bag will give you the Cozy Sleeping Bag item.

Alliance Quest Chain to Unlock the Cozy Sleeping Bag

The Alliance version of the quest chain is mostly identical to the Horde one, with the exception of the order that you do the first few quests in. That being said, most of the zones are a lot more accessible for Alliance than Horde.

Note: We recommend setting your Hearthstone to Stormwind City or Ironforge.

Step 1 - Westfall

The first step for Alliance takes place in Westfall at the Alexstone Farmstead. Inside a broken cart you will find some burned-out remains.

When you interact with the burned-out remains you will get the and that note you found quest.

Step 2 - The Barrens

Now, as an Alliance player, you will head to the Barrens. This is probably the scariest part of the quest line for Alliance, as it is where you are most likely to die, especially if you are a low level.

We recommend running from Westfall to Duskwood (while here you can pick up a Torch). Once in Duskwood, go to Stranglethorn Vale and head to Booty Bay. This is the scariest part of the journey, as you will most likely die a few times due to the higher level enemies in Stranglethorn Vale.

Once in Booty Bay take the boat to Ratchet, and head to the Burned Tower near camp Taujaro, where you will find another Burned-out corpse.

After interacting with the Burned-out Corpse you will be able to hand in the quest and start the next quest, Stepping Stones.

Step 3 - Stonetalon Mountains

Now the Alliance and Horde versions converge, although Alliance players get to travel through safer areas than Horde players.

Starting from the burned tower, head north west to Stonetalon Mountain, making sure to avoid the Crossroads. Upon entering Stonetalon Mountains, follow the path past Sun Rock Retreat until you come across a camp in the mountains.

Interacting with the mound of dirt will complete the Scramble quest and give you the new Wet Job quest.

Step 5 - Loch Modan

We would recommend using your Hearthstone to either return to Stormwind or Ironforge. If you are in Stormwind, take the tram to Ironforge, then from Ironforge simply run to Loch Modan. Once in Loch Modan, head to the dam in the North and run along the dam until you see the quest hand in, roughly in the middle, then jump down on to the platform where you can hand the quest in.

When you land on the ledge, you can hand in the Wet Job quest and start the next quest, Eagle’s Fist.

The final step will be in Hillsbrad Foothills. The best way to get there is to head through the Wetlands, into Arathi Highlands and finally Hillsbrad Foothills.

When you enter Hillsbrad Foothills, turn right and run along the wall until, you will find a broken down cart and part of the wall damaged. You will be able to use the cart to jump up on to the wall above it.

Once you are on top of the wall, there will be a bag that you can click on to hand in the Eagle’s Fist quest, and then start the final quest, This Must be the Place.

Clicking on the scroll next to the bag will complete the quest and reward you with the Cozy Sleeping Bag.

How to use the Cozy Sleeping Bag in WoW Forever

The Cozy Sleeping Bag can be used in a variety of ways to make your WoW Forever Leveling journey more efficient:

  • The Cozy Sleeping Bag is a rested area meaning you can use it to log out and continue to gain rested experience.
  • If you spend 1 minute resting at the Cozy Sleeping Bag, by simply stepping on it, you will gain 1% increased experience; this experience buff stacks up to 3 times. You can easily gain all 3 stacks by standing on it for 3 minutes.

Note: It takes 10 seconds to get the sleeping bag on to the ground and taking damage will interrupt the cast, make sure you are safe before using it.

Overall the Cozy Sleeping Bag is a great Quality of Life and addition to WoW Forever. It makes the leveling experience a little more pleasant by being able to gain rested experience regardless of if you are at an Inn when you log out or not, meaning you can carry on where you left off more conveniently.
