Introduction
Hey everyone, and welcome to the Den of Nalorakk dungeon guide for season 2 of Midnight! In this guide I’ll be going over the abilities of all the trash mobs and bosses throughout the dungeon, as well as how I recommend you handle them. I’ll be focusing on the mythic and M+ versions of the dungeon, but most of this article will apply to both normal and heroic difficulties as well. I’ll also be including my recommended, PUG friendly route via the Mythic Dungeon Tools addon for anyone interested.
Some background on myself, my name is Tactyks and I am an avid M+ player, achieving the 0.1% M+ title numerous times on 5 different specs, as well as competing in The Great Push in season 4 of Shadowlands. I also create M+, Raid, and tank guide content on my YouTube and Twitch channels, so be sure to stop by and say hi!

Offerings, Warding Incense and Snowworn Provisions
To start the dungeon you’ll need to pick up 6 viable offerings on your way to the first boss in order to summon him. This includes collecting berries from bushes, fishing in select locations, or grabbing a barrel of apples spread across this area.
Also in this first part of the dungeon are 2 Warding Incense, which druids in bear form or players with 25 skill in Midnight Alchemy can interact with to grant their group a 1% versatility buff for 10mins.
On top of that, later in the dungeon there is another buff that players can grab in the Snowworn Provisions, located about halfway through the Harsh Winds gauntlet on the right side. In this case, Night Elves, Trolls, or druids in bear form can interact with it to give their group the Rune of Anchoring buff, reducing movement forces by 50% for 15mins.
The Hoardmonger Trash
Keen-Eyed Striker
- Interrupt Scavenge if near a berry bush to prevent the mob from stealing the offering
- Razor Dive targets a random player, use a defensive or bleed cleanse if needed
Thornclaw Gatherer
- Tanks beware of the stacking Shredding Claws debuff and kite if needed
- Avoid the random target puddles created by Rotten Supplies
Earthwhisper Tender
- Make sure to interrupt every cast of Healing Breeze, using purges on priority mobs if its missed
- Use spare interrupts on the random target Earth Bolt cast
Spirit of Hunger
- This mob is immune to CC
- Focus down the Starvation Effigy when it spawns to minimize the number of Insatiable Hunger casts that go off, use curse dispels to remove debuffs as needed
- Healers be prepared for the channeled damage from Feast Of Misery
Territorial Matriarch
- These mobs gain the stacking Mother's Wrath enrage when a cub dies, so tanks need to be ready with defensives or soothes when this happens
The Hoardmonger Boss Fight
At 90%, 70%, and 40% health the boss will use Resourceful Measures, running to the nearest unused pile of resources and empowering an ability. I recommend empowering the meat pile first, the bone pile second, and the mushroom pile last.
The meat pile transforms Ravenous Bellow into Hearty Bellow, adding a knockback to the AoE hit and DoT, so healers should be prepared for that damage hit regardless.
The bone pile enhances the random target Earthshatter Slam frontal, turning it into Bonespike Slam which adds some additional area denial. In both cases you should step out of the impacted area to avoid the hit.
The mushroom pile empowers Spoiled Supplies, causing more of the Rotten Mushroom soaks to spawn around the room. Soaking applies the Toxic Spores poison, so use dispels if you have them, otherwise try and spread out who soaks so that the damage intake isn’t overwhelming. Just make sure to grab them before the 12s timer ends, otherwise they trigger a Putrid Burst.
Sentinel of Winter Trash
Moving past the first boss, the terrain eventually becomes snowy and players will need to watch out for the Harsh Winds, finding cover behind terrain which is indicated by a lack of snow in that area. This area also has several new trash mobs to deal with.
Frostfang
Terra Rumbler
- Focus these mobs when they gain the Rumbling Ward shield as they pulse for AoE damage while it holds
Frigid Mauler
- Make sure to interrupt every cast of Frigid Roar
Glacial Revenant
- Loosely spread to avoid cleaving allies with Cryo Surge, and use a Magic dispel to remove it
- Move away from the Snowdrift these mobs create on death
Avatar of Determination
- This mob is immune to CC
- Glacial Tomb roots all players in ice, destroy them or use a freedom effect to remove it
- Be ready to run out of the Pulverize AoE hit
The Winter Squall
- This mob is immune to CC
- Healers beware of the constant pulsing damage from Harsh Winter until this mob is defeated
- Killing this mob stops the Harsh Winds from happening
Sentinel of Winter Boss Fight
Beware that the boss arena is icy, so players will slide whenever they move.
Healers use dispels to remove the Glacial Torment DoT quickly, focusing healing into the players you can’t dispel.
Stack up as a group to bait all the Raging Squall tornadoes into one spot, then rotate around the room to safely avoid them.
Avoid the Shattering Frostspike circles, then focus down the adds that spawn from them, keeping interrupts on their Winter's Shroud cast. On death these mobs turn into a snow pile and shoot out a Rimeshatter soak, so make sure one player gets into those.
Healers be prepared for the ticking damage during Frozen Tempest, and if possible position the boss near one of the add snow piles as that will prevent the pushback from this ability.
Nalorakk Trash
Stormbound Mystic
- Make sure to interrupt every cast of Arc Lightning
- Use spare interrupts on the random target Lightning Bolt
Ruthless Totemcaller
- Swap to Magma Totem when they spawn and quickly destroy them
Grizzled Warbringer
- This mob is immune to CC
- Healers be ready for the AoE damage from Primal Echo and be ready to use defensives if needed
- Avoid the circles created by Poison Spear Volley
Bonded Beasttamer
- Bestial Wrath enrages the mob and their Loyal Saberfang, tanks beware of this damage intake and use soothes if you have them
- Shoot targets the tank, though on its own this is not very dangerous
- Note that these mobs will occasionally use Reposition to move closer to their target
Loyal Saberfang
- Tanks watch your stacks of Shred Armor and use defensives or kite if needed
Loa Speaker Nanea
- This mob is immune to CC
- Keep an interrupt rotation on the random target Lightning Bolt cast
- Earthquake targets 2 random players, move these away from your group and overlap with existing puddles if possible to conserve space
- Destroy the Volatile Totem when they spawn as quickly as possible so your healer isn’t overwhelmed by the AoE damage they deal
Nalorakk Boss Fight
Echoing Maul debuffs 3 players and forms an Echo on them after a delay, try and drop these in the same general area, near existing echoes if possible, but don’t cleave other allies.
In general you’ll want to avoid going near echoes, as they’ll hit you with Spectral Slash if you get too close.
Tanks make sure your back is never to an echo, as during Overwhelming Onslaught Zul’jarra will jump behind you and put up a shield that the entire group needs to stand behind. Healers be prepared for the 3 large hits, and tanks be ready to run back to the boss after the knockback so you can get in the Forceful Slam soak.
During Fury Of The War God have your whole group make a wall around Zul’jarra in the middle of the room, blocking echoes that attempt to charge at her by standing in their path and taking a small hit of nature damage.
If Zul’jarra is hit by Forceful Slam or any of the charging echoes she will let out a Demoralizing Scream, so do your best to prevent this from happening.
