WoW Forever: All Library Books Locations and Rewards

In World of Warcraft Forever, players can collect library books scattered around the world in order to unlock powerful item rewards.

WoW Forever is full of collectable items, new mysteries to uncover, and just new stuff to play around with. Early in the game you will begin to find books located around the world and this guide will show you where to find them, and what to do with them.

The Rewards

Once you find 10 books total, you can accept the quest to choose your first reward:

Scholarly Pendant or Erudite's Amulet

Once you find 20 books total and are at least Character Level 20, you can accept the quest to choose your second reward:

Field Researcher's Loop or Philanthropist's Ring

Once you find 25 books total and are at least Character Level 30, you can accept the quest to choose your third reward:

Truthseeker's Bow, Crest of Elucidation or Researcher's Night Light

Note: Truthseeker's Bow has now been changed to require level 40. Previously, it could be used as soon as you unlocked it.

Alliance and Horde Quest (Library) Locations

To hand in the books, you need to head to the library of your faction's major city. The three quests are Friend of the Library, Greater Friend of the Library and Greater Friend of the Library.

Alliance players need to head to the Stormwind City Mage Tower and find Garion Wendell. he is located inside the Mage Tower.

First, let's look at the lower-level books. These are split between Eastern Kingdoms (10) and Kalimdor (6) in total, and can be done right now, but there are books located in later zones as well.

Careful: If you delete the books from your inventory, you can't re-loot them as things stand.

1-20 Book Locations Eastern Kingdoms

A list of all the books and scrolls you can find in the first 20 or so levels in the Eastern Kingdoms. There are 9 books to collect here (accounting for the duplicate in Westfall/Loch Modan).

These are all easy to get in the first 20 levels of your adventure. A number of books are in Alliance or Horde zones, while a number are in contested zones. You also earn XP and some Silver for each book you hand in.

TomTom: You can use the command /ttpaste within TomTom to paste multiple waypoints from this guide.

Archmage Theocritus's Research Journal is located in the Elwynn Forest. The book is found inside the Tower of Azora on the third floor on the table.

Bewitchments and Glamours is located in Westfall. Found inside Moonbrook, in the first house as you enter from the east side.

Rumi of Gnomeregan: The Collected Works is located in Westfall. Found at the Sentinel Hill Inn just behind the innkeeper.

Note: This is the same book as the book in the Inn in Loch Modan and only counts as one, so you can't collect both.

Crimes Against Anatomy is located in Duskwood. Head inside the Raven Hill Crypt. The location is underground; enter via the westernmost entrance and follow the stairs to the very end where you will find the book located on the bench.

Runes of the Sorcerer-Kings book is located in Loch Modan, inside the Ogre cave on the left path with the two Ogres, not in the main section to the right.

Rumi of Gnomeregan: The Collected Works is located in Loch Modan. Found on the upper level of the Inn on the table.

Note: This is the same book as the book in the Inn in Westfall and only counts as one. The image is of the Westfall book.

Goaz Scrolls is located in the Wetlands. Head to the lower level of the Excavation site at the end if you hug the right-hand side as you enter.

Archmage Antonidas: The Unabridged Autobiography is located in Ironforge. Head to the Ironforge Hall of Explorers on the large table. Move the dead Horde bodies out of the way.

The Apothecary's Metaphysical Primer is found in the Tirisfal Glades. Head to Brill and the Alchemy Shop shelf as you enter the store.

The Dalaran Digest, Vol. 23 is located in Silverpine Forest. Head inside the Amber Mill and go to the main building inside the walls. Then go into the main room, and the book will be on the shelf in front of you as you enter the main hall.

Pro Tip: For Alliance players, the NPCs here will be neutral and will not attack you.

1-20 Book Locations Kalimdor

The final section of the books is in Kalimdor, three of which are in The Barrens. These are all pretty easy to get for both Alliance and Horde. There are 6 books to collect here.

Arcanic Systems Manual is located in The Barrens. Head to the control room at the very top of the Oil Rig.

Baxtan: On Destructive Magics is located in The Barrens. Located in the Engineering building near where Gazlow is, on the table behind the Flight Master.

Secrets of the Dreamers is located in The Barrens. Head into the final room of the Cavern of Mists, which is the area with the Wailing Caverns entrance, but do not go inside the dungeon.

Note: The second waypoint must be used once you enter the cave and see the "The Wailing Caverns" text on your screen.

Nar'thalas Almanac, Vol. 74 is located in Darkshore. Head down inside the ruins on the stairs, but before you get to the bottom floor with the water.

Fury of the Land is located in the Stonetalon Mountains. Located on a barrel inside a tent on the eastern side of the camp, in the tent next to the large totem.

The Lessons of Ta'zo is located in Orgrimmar. Click on the large tablet at Darkbriar Lodge; this location is where you teleport to when you go to Orgrimmar.

Basilisks: Should Petrification be Feared? Is located in Stranglethorn Vale. Look for the book on a large table outside the cave of the Basilisks. Note the separate coordinates below for the start of the path to the book.

Geomancy: The Stone-Cold Truth is located in the Thousand Needles. Head inside the large hut on the top of the Grimtotem Mound; you'll use the rope bridges and path to get here. The scroll is in the main hut on the left side.

Difficulty: Easy - just walk up the ramps and over the bridges. It has one 28 guard and a few enemies outside the room.

Defensive Magics 101 is found in the Alterac Mountains. Head inside the Ogre Tower located as you enter the mountain area at the crossroads.

Tip: One level 40 Ogre will guard the room. If you can't kill him, just stand in the very corner behind the box as the Ogre goes near the stairs, and you should have time. Non-stealth classes will need to die and respawn behind the box.

A Web of Lies: Debunking Myths and Legends is found in the Arathi Highlands. Head to the eastern side of the Witherbark Village, located inside the hut on the east side near the mountain.

Tip: Stand on the inside of the tent directly behind the scrolls. Go very close to your character and try to position your camera so you are behind yourself and look down on the scrolls. This will let you loot it through the tent and not pull the trolls.

Demons and You is located in Desolace. Located at the Thunder Axe Fortress inside the large building in the inner ring next to the escort quest.

Mummies: A Guide to the Unsavory Undead is located in the Badlands. You need to climb up the hill to the camp with the two dwarfs, then keep going up what looks like a path. You will then find an opening that leads into a crypt; you'll find the scroll next to two bodies.

Level 40+ Locations

There are a number of books located in the higher zones, some of which are very tricky to get.

Necromancy 101 is located in Western Plaguelands. Head to the upstairs section of Scholomance to a table.

Difficulty: Easy to do; no enemies in the area.

Undead Potatoes is located in Western Plaguelands. Found on a table on the second floor of the house next to the barn on the table.

Difficulty: The house with the book is surrounded by enemies, making it a slow area to make progress. The book itself is guarded by one mob.

A Study of the Light is located in the Eastern Plaguelands. Just head to Light's Hope Chapel and find the book inside the chapel.

The Knight and the Lady is located in Eastern Plaguelands. Located by the lake in a burnt-down house.

Pro Tip: If you res onto the book, time it so that the bats are at max range from you, and you'll have time to loot the book before the bats return.

Scourge: Undead Menace or Misunderstood? is located in Eastern Plaguelands. Found on the zone side of the bridge in front of the dungeon.

Sanguine Sorcery is located in the Swamp of Sorrows. You need to climb onto the top level of the Temple of Atal'Hakkar to get this one on the back side of the dungeon, on a small dip.

Venomous Journeys is located in The Hinterlands. Located inside the half-circle wall with a mob on top of it. This is the first pyramid on the left as you enter the area.

Tip: If you can't kill the mob. Stand on the platform above (the pyramid building), then pull the mob as they stand on the platform, jump down on the wall next to the book and loot it through the wall.

Northern Kalimdor - A Comprehensive Guide is located in Felwood. Head to the very top of the zone where the Timbermaw Hold cave is, then head inside the cave to around the halfway point with the bridge. The book is just to the left of the bridge.

Ka-Boom! is located in Winterspring. Just head to Everlook, and you can find the book easily there.

Stonewrought Design is located in Blackrock Mountain via Burning Steppes. Head to the tomb near the summoning stone, right next to Franclorn Forgewright. This is the BRD key quest NPC.

Magma or Lava? is located in Blackrock Mountain via Burning Steppes. Head past the MC summon NPC (Lothos Riftwaker), and you will find it located just after him but before the mobs in the main BRD area.

A Mind of Metal is located in Searing Gorge. Found inside a tent with a Dark Iron Dwarf next to it.

Everyday Etiquette is located in Azshara. Head north from the flight path but before the ruins.

Legends of the Tidesages is located in Tanaris. Found in the Lost Rigger Cove, where the pirate NPC section is, on a bookshelf in the middle of the three main buildings.
