Introduction

Hey everyone, and welcome to the Temple of Sethraliss dungeon guide for season 2 of Midnight! In this guide I’ll be going over the abilities of all the trash mobs and bosses throughout the dungeon, as well as how I recommend you handle them. I’ll be focusing on the mythic and M+ versions of the dungeon, but most of this article will apply to both normal and heroic difficulties as well. I’ll also be including my recommended, PUG friendly route via the Mythic Dungeon Tools addon for anyone interested.

Some background on myself, my name is Tactyks and I am an avid M+ player, achieving the 0.1% M+ title numerous times on 5 different specs, as well as competing in The Great Push in season 4 of Shadowlands. I also create M+, Raid, and tank guide content on my YouTube and Twitch channels, so be sure to stop by and say hi!

Video Guide

Melidrussa Chillworn Trash

Primal Juggernaut

  • This mob is immune to CC
  • Beware of the group damage from Excavating Blast and avoid the circles it spawns
  • Crushing Smash targets the tank, use a defensive if needed

Deepstone Earthshaper

  • Tanks beware of the stacking debuff applied by the Tectonic Strike passive

Earthbound Guardian

  • Earthbound's Imprint debuffs a random player, focus healing into these targets and use defensives on overlaps as needed

Flashfrost Chillweaver

  • Ice Shield buffs a random mob, use an interrupt or CC to stop the cast
  • Frostbolt targets the tank, use spare interrupts on this cast

Infused Whelp

  • Beware of the Cold Claws debuff these mobs stack up on the tank and use a dispel or freedom to clear them before they reach 20

Defier Draghar

  • This mob is immune to CC
  • Steel Barrage channels into the tank, use a defensive, be ready to heal the AoE damage it does, and make sure to avoid the swirlies it spawns
  • Blazing Rush targets a random player, bait it towards a nearby wall and step out of the line

Melidrussa Chillworn Boss Fight

Keep interrupts on Frigid Shard to reduce tank damage intake.

Stay grouped to bait the ice spawned by Hailburst in one spot, then rotate around the room as it fills.

If targeted by Chillstorm, drop this off away from your group and fight the pull-in effect it does while using healing or defensive cooldowns to survive the damage.

At 66% and 33% health the boss casts Awaken Whelps which spawns several Infused Whelps that tanks need to pick up. She then shields herself with Ice Bulwark and begins channeling Frost Overload until it’s broken, so save damage for this if possible to quickly end this group damage.

Kokia Blazehoof Trash

Primalist Cinderweaver

  • Cinderbolt targets a random player, use an interrupt to prevent the cast
  • Avoid cleaving allies with the random target Living Bomb AoE and use a defensive if needed

Ashseer Flamelasher

  • Flaming Barrage channels into the tank, use a CC to stop the damage
  • Blaze Of Glory triggers on death, avoid the swirlies or use a purge to end the cast

Blazebound Destroyer

  • This mob is immune to CC
  • Use a defensive for the Inferno party hit and heal through the DoT it applies
  • Fiery Blast targets the tank, use spare interrupts on this cast
  • Burnout triggers on death, get out of the 20yd explosion before the cast finishes

Flamegullet

  • This mob is immune to CC
  • Flame Breath shoots towards a random player, step out of this frontal if targeted
  • Fire Maw targets the tank, use a defensive if needed
  • At 50% the mob gains stacks of Molten Blood for increasing party damage, try and save offensive and defensive CDs for when this starts

On top of these mobs, there are 2 Lieutenant in the area I recommend avoiding.

  • This mob is immune to CC
  • Storm Breath shoots towards a random player, step out of this frontal if targeted
  • Thunder Jaw targets the tank, use a defensive and beware of the large knockback it does
  • Rolling Thunder debuffs 2 random players and applies a group DoT when dispelled, stagger removing them to allow your healer to keep your group healthy
  • This mob is immune to CC
  • Storm Bolt targets a random player, interrupt the cast
  • Lightning Rod debuffs a random player, use defensives as needed
  • Watch your positioning as the Thunderstorm party hit and knockback happens when the mob reaches 100 energy

Kokia Blazehoof Boss Fight

If targeted by Ritual Of Blazebinding, move to an accessible area that doesn’t cleave your group, as the hit spawns a Blazebound Firestorm add you need to focus down.

Healers make sure you are ready to heal the Inferno cast the add does, while tanks and DPS make sure to keep interrupts on Blaze Volley.

Watch out for the Molten Boulder cast and do your best to bait these projectiles away from you path, just be careful as it will explode when it hits terrain!

Tanks be ready with a defensive for every cast of Searing Blows.

Kyrakka and Erkhart Stormvein Trash

Storm Warrior

  • Beware these mobs occasionally do an AoE hit thanks to the Thunder Stomper passive

Primal Thundercloud

Tempest Channeler

High Channeler Ryvati

Kyrakka and Erkhart Stormvein Boss Fight

In phase one Kyrakka flies around the room, using Inferno Spit on 2 players. If targeted, move out of your group to safely drop the fire puddles out of the way. She also will occasionally land near a random player and aim the Roaring Flamebreath frontal at them which you should avoid.

Erkhart remains on the ground, using Stormslam on the tank. Healers make sure to dispel the tank before the next cast of this ability as it leaves a Magic debuff that increases the damage taken. He also occasionally uses Interrupting Cloudburst, so watch for this and stop casting before this completes.

Beware of the direction Winds Of Change will blow as this not only pushes players but also Inferno Spit puddles. These always start by pushing North-West towards the balcony, then South-West, South-East, and finally North-East before continuing to repeat. This means you can position your Inferno Spit puddles to be pushed away from your group if you keep track of the next wind direction.

Phase 2 begins after pushing a boss to 50% health, causing Erkhart to mount Kyrakka and empowering her Inferno Spit to target 3 players until defeated. I recommend pooling damage, healing, and defensives if possible to power through this phase.
