Introduction

Hey everyone, and welcome to the Ruby Life Pools M+ guide for season 4 of Dragonflight! In this guide I’ll be covering the abilities of all the trash mobs and bosses throughout the dungeon, as well as how I recommend you deal with them. I will also be including a recommended, PUG friendly route via the Mythic Dungeon Tools addon for anyone interested.

A bit about me, my name is Tactyks and I am an avid M+ player, achieving every 0.1% M+ title that has existed as well as competing in The Great Push in season 4 of Shadowlands. I also create M+ and Raid guide content on my YouTube and Twitch channels, so be sure to stop by and say hi!

If you are using the Mythic Dungeon Tools addon, you can import the recommended route using the following link: https://wago.io/sSGxfTXFa

Video Guide

Melidrussa Chillworn Trash

  • This mob is immune to CC
  • Avoid the circle and puddle spawned on a random player by Excavating Blast
  • Crushing Smash targets the tank, use a defensive if needed
  • Use a CC to prevent the Tectonic Slam cast
  • Ice Shield buffs a random mob, use an interrupt or CC to stop the cast or purge the effect if needed
  • Icebolt targets the tank, use spare interrupts on this cast and defensives as needed
  • Cold Claws targets the tank, this is a low priority interrupt or stop, make sure to dispel this effect before the tank reaches 8 stacks
  • This mob is immune to CC
  • Steel Barrage targets the tank, use a defensive and avoid the swirlies it spawns
  • Blazing Rush targets a random player, sidestep out of the charge

Melidrussa Chillworn Boss Fight

Hailbombs will spawn icicles under each players feet for the remainder of the fight, group up for this cast to try and conserve as much space as possible.

One player is targeted with Chillstorm, move this circle away from the group and use a defensive and speed boost if targeted to get out of the AoE. Healers be ready to do big healing when these go out.

Frigid Shard targets the tank constantly throughout the fight, manage your defensive accordingly, and note that it is particularly scary during the Chillstorm as the boss continues to cast shards at you while the AoE is happening.

At 75% and 45% health the boss casts Awaken Whelps, shields herself with Ice Bulwark, and begins to channel Frost Overload. Tanks pickup the adds while DPS focus down the shield so the AoE damage can be interrupted. Healers make sure to dispel the tank before their stacks of Primal Chill get to 8.

Kokia Blazehoof Trash

  • Cinderbolt targets a random player, use an interrupt to prevent the cast
  • Purge or use a spare CC to stop the Burning Ambition buff
  • Flame Dancer targets the tank and explodes if the cast finishes, use a CC to prevent this
  • Blaze of Glory triggers on death, avoid the swirlies or use a purge to end the cast
  • This mob is immune to CC
  • Use a defensive for the Inferno party hit and heal through the DoT it applies
  • Living Bomb targets a random player, the explosion also damages and knocks up mobs so you can use it to your advantage
  • Burnout triggers on death, get out of the 20yd explosion before the cast finishes
  • This mob is immune to CC
  • Flame Breath frontals towards a random target, sidestep out of this effect
  • Fire Maw targets the tank, use a defensive if needed
  • At 50% health deals ramping party damage with Molten Blood, try and safe offensive and defensive CDs for when this starts

On top of these, there are 2 Lieutenant mobs in the area I recommend avoiding.

  • This mob is immune to CC
  • Storm Breath frontals towards a random target, sidestep out of this effect
  • Thunder Jaw targets the tank, use a defensive and position such that you don’t get knocked off an edge or into another pack
  • Rolling Thunder debuffs 2 random players, dispel one player ASAP to allow you to top the party up before the 2nd one expires
  • This mob is immune to CC
  • Lightning Bolt targets a random player, interrupt the cast
  • Unlucky Strike targets a random player, use a curse dispel to remove it or defensive if you can’t
  • Watch your positioning when the Thunderstorm party hit and knockback happens

Kokia Blazehoof Boss Fight

Molten Boulders are rolled in a line towards a random player, creating fire puddles and exploding after a certain distance or hitting terrain. Avoid this attack and make sure that you do a big movement if you bait the ability towards a nearby wall or tree. Ideally you want to bait these away from where you intend to move the boss, so the fire path it spawns doesn’t block you off.

At 100 energy the boss will spawn a stationary Blazebound Firestorm on a random ranged player. Move out of the initial 12yd AoE and focus this mob down, using defensives and healing CDs on the Inferno hits and interrupting the Roaring Blaze casts. These mobs also leave behind fire puddles with their on-death explosion Burnout, so ranged try and bait the spawn of these mobs near old fire to conserve space.

Shortly after spawning an add the boss will use Searing Blows on the tank, make sure you always have a defensive active for these hits, and if possible use a bleed cleanse on the DoT it applies.

Kyrakka and Erkhart Stormvein Trash

  • Thunderclap AoEs around the mob, use a CC to stop the cast or stand at max melee range to avoid the hit
  • Purge the Tempest Barrier shield off these mobs if possible, but this is not a high priority
  • Crackling Detonation targets a random player when Tempest Barrier depletes, avoid the swirly or use a spare interrupt on the cast
  • This mob is immune to CC
  • Thunderbolt targets the tank, use any spare interrupts on this
  • Lightning storm deals heavy party damage for 5s, use defensives and healing CDs here
  • Summon Primal Thundercloud adds one of these mobs to the fight
  • This mob is immune to CC
  • Flashfire targets a random player, be sure to interrupt every cast
  • Purge the Burning Veins buff if possible
  • This mob is immune to CC
  • Shock Blast targets the tank, interrupt this cast and use a magic dispel if any go through
  • Lightning Storm deals heavy party damage for 5s, use defensives and healing CDs here
  • Summon Primal Thundercloud is cast 4 times back to back, tanks pick up these new mobs
  • Focus the Tempest Stormshield down before it explodes, note the strength of this absorb increases if there are nearby Tempest Barriers to be consumed

Kyrakka and Erkhart Stormvein Boss Fight

Erkhart targets the tank with Stormslam, Healers make sure to dispel the tank before the next cast of this ability.

Erkhart will also intermittently cast Interrupting Cloudburst, this doesn’t hit hard but can be annoying for casters who will want to stop their cast so they don’t get interrupted.

In phase 1, Kyrakka will use Flamespit on a random player, debuffing them with Infernocore. The targeted player should use a defensive and move out of the group to drop the Flaming Embers in a safe place, as if anyone touches them they will also be debuffed with Infernocore.

On top of this, Kyrakka will occasionally jump down near a random player and use Roaring Flamebreath, be sure to avoid this cone as it also debuffs players hit with Infernocore.

Winds of Change will push back players as well as Flaming Embers puddles, so be aware and avoid them. Note that these winds always push in the same order, starting by pushing North-West towards the balcony, then South-West, followed by South-East, and finally North-East before repeating the same order. This allows you to drop puddles in spots that will cause them to blow away from your party instead of into them.

When either of the boss mobs reach 50% health phase 2 begins, with Erkhart mounting Kyrakka empowering her Flamespit to now target 2 random players. I recommend doing as much damage to Kyrakka as possible in P1, then using Bloodlust and focusing her down at the start of P2, as most of the damage in this phase comes from the Flamespits.

Ruby Life Pools Mythic+ Dungeon Route

If you are using the Mythic Dungeon Tools addon, you can import this route using the following string:
Import MDT Route

For the first pull of the dungeon you’ll want to take the Primal Juggernaut near the entrance on a bit of a walk so you can group up a nice pull for bloodlust. Alternatively, if you want to invis pot or have something like shroud to skip this mob, you can trade it for pack G6. Watch the patrol of Primal Juggernaut 2 in this first area, hugging the wall and running into the boss room with pull 3 when possible. If the patrol is dead you can opt to tag the mobs in this pull and fight them near where you did pull 2.

Flying up after the Melidrussa Chillworn, I recommend going right around the circle. Be careful not to pull too many cinderweavers in one pull as they can easily overwhelm you. When you get past the halfway point in the ring keep an eye out for Thunderhead, I’ve noted his patrol path in the MDT string including 2 safe spots where you can tank pulls 9, 10, and 11.

Once you defeat the second boss it’s just a straight line to the final boss, just make sure you don’t pull more than 1 Tempest Channeler at a time and you have enough kicks to cover the Flame Channeler casts!
