Nocturnal Lotus is a rare reagent that you can find as a bonus loot drop from gathering any of the Midnight herbs in any of the Midnight zones. As it is gathered from herbs it can only be collected by Herbalists but can be found by Alchemists through alternative methods.
Nocturnal Lotus has become a crucial herb reagent in Midnight with the majority of Flasks and Cauldrons requiring Nocturnal Lotus. Since Nocturnal Lotus has become such an important herb it has started to drive a high price on the Auction House with a single Nocturnal Lotus costing thousands of gold.
Now that Nocturnal Lotus has spiked in price it can be a great time to start farming it either for gold making or personal use to save yourself some gold.
Farming Nocturnal Lotus
As Nocturnal Lotus is a bonus item that is looted from gathering Midnight herbs it can be difficult to get a good farm for it but there are ways to improve your chances of finding more Nocturnal Lotus.
Perception
One of the main ways to increase your chances of finding more Nocturnal Lotus is going to be from increasing your Perception stats. Perception is a gathering stat that increases your chance of finding additional rare resources while gathering herbs. There are multiple ways you can increase your Perception stat.
- Profession Tools - When you are able to craft epic profession tools you can use the Thalassian Missive Of Perception as an optional reagent to give yourself a large boost in Perception.
- Enchantments - After you have crafted some profession equipment you can use the enchantment - Enchant Tool - Amani Perception. This will give you a smaller but welcome boost to perception.
- Consumables - There are a few consumables that you can use to increase your Perception. Use the Haranir Phial Of Perception and Sanguithorn Tea. Both of these consumables will grant you increased Perception and some extra deftness increasing how quick you gather herbs.
Mulching
A great way to guarantee some Nocturnal Lotus can be to start putting some knowledge points into the Mulching Sub-Specialization in the Botany tree.
Once you have learned Mulching you will need to put 20 knowledge points into the Mulching tree to learn Imbued Mulch.
This will guarantee a rare reagent on your next herb gather and can be used every hour at the cost of 10 Tranquility Bloom. As Nocturnal Lotus is the only rare reagent in Midnight Herbalism you can guarantee at least 1 Nocturnal Lotus every hour.

Spending Leftover Moxie
As you progress further and further in Midnight’s professions you will have a ton of leftover Artisan Moxie. Each profession has a different Moxie with Alchemists having Artisan Alchemist’s Moxie and Herbalists gaining Artisan Herbalist’s Moxie.
You can gain moxie from gaining knowledge points and completing Patron Work Orders. After a while you may find yourself with some leftover Artisan Moxie. You can spend leftover Artisan Moxie on the Master Alchemist's Surplus Reagents and Master Herbalist's Surplus Reagents.
Each of the Surplus Reagents cost 600 Artisans Moxie and will contain a minimum of 4 Nocturnal Lotus.
