Hey everyone, my name is Tactyks and welcome to Method’s Mythic+ Spec and Dungeon Tier List for Midnight Season 1.

A bit about me, I’m an avid M+ pusher who has achieved the 0.1% title numerous times on 5 different specs on top of competing in The Great Push as a tank player. I also create in-depth M+, Raid, and Tank guide content over on my YouTube and Twitch channels, so make sure to stop by and say hi!

Tier List Disclaimers

This tier list will be attempting to rank the strength of each spec when it comes to Mythic+ content. Keep in mind this does not factor in player skill and can change quickly with both adjustments to dungeons as well as class tuning, and we will update this list as those things happen.

On top of this, it’s always important to remember that every single spec in the game is more than capable of accomplishing things like Keystone Master, Keystone Hero, and even the 0.1% title, so don’t feel forced to play a spec you don’t enjoy just because of a tier list. Bringing the best player almost always trumps bringing a more “meta” spec as an individual’s skill can easily close the gap between any potential numerical difference specs may have.

Spec Rankings Explained

In terms of how the specs were ranked, here is the criteria used for each tier.

S Tier - Reserved for the specs with the highest throughput that also bring with them tools unique to their spec or class which is extremely impactful in this season’s dungeon pool. Expect these specs to be present in the vast majority of high key group compositions.

A Tier - Specs that have extremely high throughput but are slightly behind the S tier specs when it comes to either damage, durability, or utility. These specs will still be seen quite commonly on the leaderboard and remain strong picks.

B Tier - More niche specs that are powerful when used in the right hands, but tend to be lacking in at least one category relative to specs higher up in the list. You’ll still see these specs played at the top level, but they’ll be more uncommon than S and A tier specs.

C Tier - In the final tier we have specs that are below average when it comes to throughput, and often are being outperformed by other specs of the same class that bring the same or better utility, defensiveness, or damage. These specs will rarely appear near the top of the M+ leaderboard, likely played by specialists when they do.

Mythic+ Dungeon Difficulty Tier List

For a ranking of general dungeon difficulty see the tier list and blurbs below. The easiest dungeons are in the S tier, increasing in difficulty until you get to the hardest dungeons in the C tier.

Algeth’ar Academy - This dungeon has received several changes from the Dragonflight version, with the timer being especially tight now in Midnight in addition to bosses like Overgrown Ancient and Crawth remaining quite difficult.

Magisters’ Terrace - Fully remade in Midnight, this dungeon has fairly forgiving bosses compared to some of the other ones in the pool, in addition to a timer that gives you room to make mistakes, just be careful as this dungeon can get hard for your tank quickly if you don’t have access to a purge effect.

Maisara Caverns - Another new dungeon with this expansion, the main hurdle for most groups will likely be the 2nd boss, though this gets a little easier if players opt to grab the hearty stew buff before the first boss, plus once again the timer is quite lenient.

Nexus-Point Xenas - An amazing dungeon thematically, some of the trash in here is quite dangerous and can quickly lead to wipes, particularly in the ethereal wing. The timer in here isn’t extremely tight, but it’s also not as forgiving as some of the other keys in the pool.

Pit of Saron - Returning all the way from Wrath of the Lich King, this dungeon has seen a massive revamp and is looking to be one of the easier keys in the pool, as long as you make sure your route doesn’t cause you to get overwhelmed by the large amount of casters mobs.

Seat of the Triumvirate - This Legion dungeon struck fear into the hearts of many players in the past, and that will likely continue going into Midnight, with dangerous trash and several bosses that require good group coordination to defeat, likely leading to PUGs struggling.

Skyreach - Rounding out our returning dungeons is this one from Warlords of Draenor, which pairs simple boss encounters with a low amount of caster mobs, making it one of the lowest coordination keys in the pool.

Windrunner Spire - The last of the Midnight launch dungeons in season 1, the largest pain points for groups is looking like the final boss as well as trash in the Dynamic Duo wing, but otherwise this dungeon is fairly forgiving, landing it up in the A tier for difficulty.
