The Seventh Trial of Aql quest finally gets us back into the action after a somewhat lacklustre Sixth Trial of AQL entry.
As with the other Trials, it doesn’t give you a waypoint to follow. However, as it's so close to the Sixth Trial, you may have actually seen it already, as I did. As a result, it will show up on your map.
To start, go to your Journey tab and click on The Sixth Trial of Aql. Hit "View Trial Location" to bring up a painted mural and a short clue:
"Red teeth... gaping maw... down, down in the depth... hunger hidden from storm and worm"
Seventh Trial of Aql Location
Staying in the Hagga Rift, we're heading to the Red Maw for the next trial. The entrance is inside the valley, and not on top of it. The second screenshot does a decent job of showing that. Once you get to the correct level (shown below), the cave icon will move inside the cave. You know you've found the cave entrance by looking behind, as you'll see a large mining station entrance.
Note: You can get to the cave from the lower levels. But if you go through the cave we've shown, make sure to go deeper inside rather than going back into the valley.
There are enemies in this cave and some of them are really strong, so be careful. Once you first enter the large chamber room, hang right for extra loot. Then go into the area on the bottom left side of that room, and to the right is the spice event.
Seventh Trial of Aql Guide
As always, it's a fairly easy trial to complete. This one teaches us about the destructive nature of sand, specifically sandstorms. While our home base is great as a shelter from the storm, sometimes when you're out in the world, you can get caught out without a base. Fear not, because this is solved with this Trial.
During the Trial, we must use the Stilltents to protect us from the storm. You will need to find them fairly quickly, as you will die otherwise. As with other trials, once it's over, you'll now have the ability to craft a Stilltent, provided you have the correct fabricator and have unlocked its research.
How to Craft a Stilltent
You will require the following:
- 100x Water
- 7x Steel Ingot
- 18x Micro-sandwich Fabric
- 14x Silicone Block
There is no bonus loot once we finish this trial. However, it's likely the loot we got before we came in has now respawned, so it's time to double-dip. As always, you will get full Spice.
You will now notice that the Eighth Trial of the Aql has been changed to The Footsteps of the Freeman.
