The Trooper is your stereotypical all-guns-blazing soldier Class. These are the file and rank members of the armies of the Great Houses and as such are highly competent warriors, versed in various ways of combat.
In Dune Awakening, Troopers focus primarily on Gunnery (ranged weapons), Suspensor Training (manipulating gravity for combat advantage) and Tactical Tech (combat gadgets & grenades).
If you want to start progressing the Trooper skill tree, you'll need to work through the Advanced Trainer quest chain, detailed below.

Quest 1: Proving Grounds (Basic)
Note: If you started with Trooper as your primary class, you won't need to do this quest and can skip straight to quest 2.
This quest is a nice simple one that takes place entirely in South Hagga Basin. First of all you are going to want to head to Griffin's Reach Tradepost to meet Ghavouri, the Basic Trooper Trainer. You can't really miss him as he is marked on the map and has a suspensor light hanging above him.
Ghavouri will task you to eliminate three targets that are all located in eastern South Hagga Basin. Make your way out east and eliminate them all one by one then head back to Griffin's Reach to hand it back in to Ghavouri. Nice and easy.
Quest 2: Seeking Control
To start the Advanced Training for Trooper, we need to head to Arrakis. If doing this back-to-back then you can fast travel there directly from Griffin's Reach (or any other tradepost) or if you are doing this later in the game and you've already unlocked your ornithopter, you can fly there from the Overworld.
When you get to Arrakeen, go straight ahead and up the stairs to the first floor, take a sharp left and run along the balcony. You'll find her overlooking the atrium. Speak to her to accept the first Advanced Trainer Quest.
She will task you with heading to The Sweep in Jabal Eifrit Al-janub just north of the border between East and West Vermillius. If you are entering from the Overworld, fly in east, otherwise fast travel to the Anvil and head northwest.
Once there, make your way up to the top floor of the main building in the base and interact with the book on the table. Two heavy machine-gun enemies will spawn from the doors to that room, kill them both and take the transmitters.
Return to Kara in Arrakeen by Overworld or by fast travel from the Anvil. Speak to her and accept the next quest.
Quest 3: Regaining Control
IMPORTANT: You will need a Handheld Resource Scanner in order to progress through the second half of this quest.
Next we need to head to the other major city: Harko Village. You can get here by fast travelling or via the Overworld. Once you get there this part of the quest is simple - just follow the quest icon waypoints on your compass (at top of screen) or map.
Go to the spot where the smuggler should be, then go to speak to the barkeep at Hannivar's. You'll need to select the 'I want a brandy...' or similar dialogue option. Then you'll go read a ledger in a room off the bar and return to the barkeep. You'll then be tasked with locating Tuco's stash.
We're going back to Jabal Eifrit Al-janub, just a little northwest of The Sweep, the location we visited in Quest 2. You can either fast travel to the Pinnacle, or re-enter from the north of the Overworld, and make your way to the location shown below.
To complete this step of the quest you will need to scan the small crater in the ground with the chest using your Handheld Scanner.
Next we're heading into the depths of Hagga Rift, to CHOAM Mineral Extraction Facility #6. I have drawn a yellow arrow to show the direction that you will need to approach from on the map image too as the quest map icon won't be much help here.
This place is a bit of a labyrinth, especially if you don't have an ornithopter, and you'll want to approach from one of the lowest levels of the Rift, see image for what the entrance looks like.
Once inside, follow the tunnel down until you see a radiated area on your left, enter through there and you'll find Tuco hanging by the wall, beside a sandbike.
Pro Tip: There's a great rare loot chest down the hole in this room, worth grabbing but be careful as there are some poison mines there too.
Finally, head back to Arrakeen and hand the quest in to Kara. Remember to take the next quest after.
Quest 4: A Shot At Improving
IMPORTANT: This quest will require you to kill 5-6 fairly tough enemies (probably around Aluminum level). If you are severely undergeared, you might find it challenging.
Back to Harko Village we go via Overworld or Fast Travel. The Suk doctor we are looking at is a little tricky to find so I'll included a route map below which should help, follow the white line from the entrance.
After talking to the doctor, it's back to Hannivar's bar to speak with the barkeep. Remember to use the 'I'll take a brandy...' dialogue option.
The next part of the request requires us to visit Taqwa's Watch in The O'odham (zone in the top left corner). If travelling via Overworld, enter from the west, otherwise fast travel to The Crossroads Tradepost.
Once you enter the zone you will be required to kill Mass Kharet, around 6 enemies or so. As warned, this will be pretty spicy if you are undergeared so leave your vehicle just outside the entrance so you have a good respawn point.
If you want to grab the Intel inside, the band you need for the locked door is in the first room on your right as you descend down the stairs from the entrance.
Once you're finished with Taqwa's Watch, time to head back to Harko Village to speak to the barkeep and then return to the Suk Doctor we spoke to at the start of the quest.
Finally, you guessed it, back to Kara in Arrakeen to hand in the quest and then speak with her again to take the next one.
Quest 5: Master of Weapons
IMPORTANT: This quest will require you to spend around 12 skill points to get the Trooper abilities you need to use to complete it. If you don't have these available you can respec but it does have a 48h cooldown. I had to go and do some quests to get the xp. You will also require at least 1,000 Solari.
A nice easy quest after a few longer ones. This quest just requires us to use three Trooper abilities. Head back to Hagga Basin, literally anywhere will do. First you will need to use Assault Seeker a few times, then Attractor Field and finally Gravity Field.
Once you've done that, we're heading to Harko Village to pick up more medicine from the Suk doctor (I don't know if I took the wrong dialogue option but I had to pay 1,000 Solari for it), then deliver it to Kara in Arrakeen to complete the quest. Speak to her again to take Quest 6.
Quest 6: Surgical Strike
Time to kill more slavers. Head back to Hagga Basin, specifically to Khidr's Shadow in Hagga Rift. If flying from the Overworld, enter from the east, otherwise fast travel to The Anvil and head north.
You have to kill 4 slavers and then you have to interact with an item on the top floor. The item is actually directly above you to your left if you go in through the main entrance so you can just hop up there, interact with it and hop down. I would avoid taking a firefight with the 5-6 enemies up there.
Head back to Kara, hand in the quest and then speak to her again to take the final quest.
Quest 7: The Cleansing of Kara Valk
Kicking off the final quest, Kara will have you go to and speak to another NPC in Arrakeen, Campos Demari. He's just downstairs (you'll see him on your map) so hop down, speak to him, pay him 4,000 Solari to arrange transport and then go and speak to Kara again.
Kara will send you off to find the 'smuggler dead-drop' which is a small nook quite high up one of the large cliffs just northeast of the Hand of Khidr. Climb or fly up there and grab the coordinates.
Then we're going back to Khidr's Shadow. You'll need to make your way up to the top floor of one of the buildings at the back, follow the map icon to identify the right building.
Once you enter the right room, a boss will appear in the doorway that you must defeat in order to loot a quest item (stim) from him. If you are decent at melee combat then you should be fine but he can take quite a few hits!
Deliver the stim to the Suk doctor in Harko Village and then head back to Arrakeen. We need to speak to Kara but she has moved to the Salusan Bull bar. You'll find her just in front of the counter beside the barkeep.
Speak to Kara to complete this quest chain and get yourself a nice little three-shot burst rifle.
Hope this helped! We also have full Advanced Trainer Quest Guides for all classes:
