Are you wondering how to get to Arrakeen? Harko Village? The Deep Desert? Well you can get there in Dune Awakening via a fast-travel mechanism called the World Map.
The first important thing to point out is that you can only access the World Map once you have yourself an ornithopter.
That's because the World Map essentially dramatically speeds up the travel time as you fly to different areas within Arrakis. Hagga Basin doesn't constitute the entire game area.
How Do You Get To The World Map?
As mentioned, you will need an ornithopter. Once in your ornithopter, you can fly to any edge of the Hagga Basin map and you'll see a shimmering blue wall, as shown below.
Fly straight into it and you'll receive an option asking 'Are you sure you want to travel to World Map'? Just confirm and that will take you out onto this top-down map view.
From here you can access the following locations:
- Hagga Basin (12 entry points)
- The Deep Desert (3 entry points)
- Arrakeen
- Harko Village
You can view the map of the World Map by clicking M once you're out there. This will show you where each of the above locations are in reference to each other.
You can track the location you want to go to by clicking on the location tile on the left-hand side of the map and hitting Track spacebar)
Once you have selected a location to track, you'll see that an arrow appears on the outside of your little ornithopter's HUD, as shown in the image below:
Just follow the arrow to your desired location and then fly into it to enter.
Flying Back Into Hagga Basin
You'll notice that when you return to Hagga Basin there are 12 entry points broken up into tiles around the outside of the area. The entry point you choose will determine where you re-enter Hagga Basin.
For example if you re-enter in the south-west, at say 8 o'clock, then you'll enter Hagga Basin in Sheol, as that is where Sheol is located.
This is a really great way to travel in this game and can save you a LOT of time and Solari. Instead of paying 2,500 Solari to fast travel to Arrakeen or Harko Village, you can get there within minutes for free.
Also, you can even use it to speed up travel within Hagga Basin! Very often if I am near the edge of Hagga Basin, I will fly out onto the World Map and re-enter in a different part of Hagga Basin that I was trying to get to.
Hope this helps!
