Dune Awakening is here, and like many games, it has launched with a few known issues that need some workarounds to help bypass.
If you’re here, then you’re probably wondering how to fix one of the issues you have with Dune Awakening. This article will be updated daily during release and in the weeks after with known issues and suggested work arounds. We will also highlight “fixed” issues and archive them incase they return.
Note that any fixes are at your own risk, though we will make it clear if this is a community fix or a developer fix, where possible.

FPS Stutter & Frame Drop
- Fix type - Community
- Current status - Ongoing
- Last Update - June 5th
One of the major issues was during the game's large open beta weekend. The FPS Stutter and Frame Drops caused huge issues on the final two days of the beta. We’ve got a dedicated Dune Awakening FPS Stutter article, but here is a TLDR of the issues and fixes.
Server Issues
Since the game operates on the same system as Conan Exiles, any stuttering issues stem from the servers, not your PC, while proving this can be challenging, you can monitor the MS (ping) rather than your frame rates. Essentially, the game struggles to manage the volume of data you're transmitting.
During the major beta weekend, many players encountered this problem on the final day, when the developer opened the servers to everyone who had requested access. The silver lining is that the developers have a month to address this problem, and there's a chance it will be resolved by the time the game officially launches. However, the launch may also lead to an increased server load, potentially exacerbating the issue.
We’d expect this issue to come up again when wave two of the game launches on June 10th.
Settings
Changing a few settings is one of the ways you can fix other frame-related issues.
Turn off the following settings if you are having frame issues:
- Frame Generation - the implementation for both AMD and Nvidia of this setting is poor and will result in bad frames despite high FPS
- FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) - Despite being an AMD setting, this is on by default for people with Nvidia cards
Turn on/adjust the following settings to fix issues:
- Cap your frame rate to your monitor's refresh rate
Windows 24h2 update Fix
- Fix type - Community
- Current status - Ongoing
- Last Update - June 5th
For those running Windows 11 who updated the last major update (24h2) there are some workarounds posted by the developers on how you can workaround the issue.
The following are from Funcom via Community Manager Iggy.
- Have Windows 11 with update 24H2,
- Make sure you have KB5058499 (OS Build 26100.4202) installed. It improves the stability of the system in CPU-intensive applications like games. If this doesn’t resolve the problem, please try rolling back to Windows 11 23H2
- Try disabling the "Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling". You can do this on Windows in System > Display > Graphics > Advanced graphics settings > Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling.
- In-game, you can turn on the Limit Process CPU Usage setting. This setting reserves one CPU core for other tasks, which should prevent a full system freeze.
- You can enable it in-game in Settings > Graphics and scroll down to "Limit process CPU usage (experimental)". This will impact client performance but should significantly improve the stability of your system.
- If you overclock your PC, please try reverting to the manufacturer's default settings and ensure your PSU wattage fulfils the system requirements.
Screen Percentage Showing Lower
- Fix type - Community
- Current status - Ongoing, patch pending
- Last Update - June 3rd
A weird issue that is affecting a few GPUs is that in the benchmark, the Screen Percentage usage will show as a lower than 100%, often 58%.
Community Manager Iggy confirmed this is purely a UI bug and the game is using the correct amounts (assuming you do have it set to 100%). The bug will be fixed at some point, though it is low priority.
