What To Do With CHOAM Cargo in Dune Awakening - CHOAM Salvage Rights

Written by MJM - 27th August 2025

A new event has launched in Dune: Awakening - CHOAM Salvage Rights. This event takes place in Hagga Basin and involves a couple of new interactive events (CHOAM fallen ships & Kirab Emplacements) but more importantly offers cosmetic rewards including weapon skins and a base decoration.

The event will be live until 10th September when Chapter 2 and the Lost Harvest DLC launches.

CHOAM Contracts

The three CHOAM Contracts can be obtained from any of the CHOAM Representatives. You can find Representatives at the Pinnacle Tradepost and the Anvil Tradepost in Hagga Basin. They are identifiable by the white CHOAM hologram that floats beside them.

These contracts essentially just serve as a tutorial for the mini-event. They each provide rewards of:

  • 150 XP
  • 4,500 Solari

Contract 1: Retrieve CHOAM Cargo

This contract forms the bulk of the mini event and teaches you how to do the most important task - collecting CHOAM Cargo.

The Kirab missile launchers, that you have no doubt noticed, are knocking CHOAM ships out of the sky and onto the desert in Hagga Basin. We need to collect the CHOAM Cargo from these.

You will want to land at the back of the CHOAM fallen ship and you will see that there are two large 'doors' with the scan icon for your Cutteray when you get close.

Scan and cut through the first door, and then scan and cut through another door and you should be in a container that contains a small chest at the end.

Loot the chest to grab the CHOAM Cargo. Each chest contains 1-2 pieces of CHOAM Cargo. Loot them and the contract will complete.

Contract 2: Make Them Pay

This Contract simply involves killing 25 Kirab. We have an entire guide on killing Kirab but have also included all of their locations below for convenience.

The numbers within the circles indicate the number of Kirab at each outpost.

Simply go and kill 25 Kirab and then a prompt will appear to turn in the quest without having to return to the representative.

Contract 3: Sabotage Kirab Placements

To complete this quest you will need to first approach one of the Kirab missile launchers (shown below) and dispatch of the two Kirab defending it.

If you approach the missile launcher you will see an icon where you can scan with your Cutteray. Scan, laser off the shield and then interact with the launcher.

As with the other contracts, you'll be able to turn this in without returning to the representative.

That concludes all of the contracts - the representative won't have any more work for you when you return.

CHOAM Cargo & Rewards

The real 'meat' of this mini-event is the cosmetic rewards that are offered by handing in the CHOAM Cargo to any of the CHOAM Representatives.

As previously mentioned, CHOAM Representatives can be found at the Pinnacle and Anvil Tradeposts and are identified by a white CHOAM hologram beside them.

Speak to any of the Representatives and select the option 'What do you have for sale?' to interact with the shop menu.

The Representative sells the following items:

  • CHOAM Tech Rifle Variant - 25 CHOAM Cargo
  • CHOAM Tech SMG Variant - 25 CHOAM Cargo
  • CHOAM Tech Sword Variant - 20 CHOAM Cargo
  • CHOAM Tech Pistol Variant - 20 CHOAM Cargo
  • Harkonnen Turret Statue (Base Decoration) - 35 CHOAM Cargo

Weapon skins/variants have thus far been very rare in Dune: Awakening so now is a great chance to great some cosmetics for your gear!
