Even after reaching the endgame of Dune: Awakening, we still found ourselves wondering what this odd item, Ship Manifest, was for. The answer: mostly for Landsraad tasks.
Ship Manifests are a somewhat rare item in Dune Awakening, typically found in decent quantities within the 'Downed Ships' that fall out of the sky.
In this article, we’ll explain what Ship Manifests are for, how to find them in the open desert, and whether buying them is ever worth it.
What Are Ship Manifests For?
Some Landsraad tasks will ask for Ship Manifests to be delivered, in return for earning personal contribution points towards claiming that house. That's pretty much all they are used for! They are similar in that way to Opafire gems which can only be found in Buried Treasure.
Some of the rewards from the Landsraad can be pretty great, such as unique schematics for some of the best weapons, armour and tools in the game, so you might want to hold on to those Ship Manifests until the right house task comes along.
How to Get Ship Manifests
The main way to get Ship Manifests is from Downed Ships. These fall out of the sky randomly in open desert areas of Hagga Basin and the Deep Desert. You’ll hear a loud crash and see an explosion in the sky. When that happens, grab your Sandbike or Ornithopter and head toward the wreckage fast. Other players will likely be on the way too.
At the crash site, use your Cutteray tool to slice open the ship panels and the roof hatch. These locations are the same for every small shipwreck. The Ship Manifest will usually be among the cargo in at least one of the slots. You can cut multiple panels to get more loot, but time is limited. Sandworms will eventually arrive and swallow the ship, so don’t hang around too long.
Tips:
- Don’t activate your shield and minimise suspensor use to avoid attracting the sandworm
- You might need to climb alongside one of the hatches to loot it
- Wear Softstep Boots that reduce sandworm attraction if you can
- To find ships, listen for a loud explosion sound, as this is normally a small ship wreckage crashing nearby

Yes. Ship Manifests can be bought from the The Exchange, the player-run marketplace accessed in either Harko Village or Arrakeen.
