Both Hydraulic Pistons and Military Power Regulators are critical crafting components, required for crafting vehicle engines, fabricators and more. They're also required to produce their higher-tier equivalents, Tri-forged Hydraulic Pistons and Overclocked Power Regulators.
Both Hydraulic Pistons and Military Power Regulators are found in the later stages of your progression through Hagga Basin but the good news is that they are fairly easy to farm.
Pro tip: you will ideally want an ornithopter to traverse quickly between the different strongholds in the route.
Farming Hydraulic Pistons & Military Power Regulators - Best Route
Our farming route for these materials is going to take us along the western and northern edge of Hagga Basin, starting with The Beast's Claw in Mysa Tarill.

First Stop - The Beast's Claw
The Beast's Claw is a small stronghold located west of the Crossroads Tradepost in Mysa Tarill. You should only find a handful of enemies inside.
Loot the chests (there are ~3) and grab the ID band on the table up the stairs at the back of the main hall. Loot the rare chest downstairs for a schematic and a large number of Hydraulic Pistons and Military Power Regulators.
Second Stop - Passage of Artemis
The Passage of Artemis is also pretty small and you might be familiar with it if you have completed the Mentat Advanced Trainer quest line. Again loot the 2-3 chests, and loot the rare chest in the locked room.
The enemies in this base, as with the others, are pretty tough. You don't have to kill them however, you can just pop your shield and sprint through, looting as you go.
Third Stop - The Aegis
The Aegis is our final stop on this little farming tour. It's a much bigger Atreides stronghold with a large number of tough enemies split across two different 'towers'.
Run through each tower and grab the chests as you go. We ended up with around 125 Military Power Regulators and 60 Hydraulic Pistons after completing one trip.
Buying Hydraulic Pistons & Military Power Regulators
You have two options when it comes to buying Hydraulic Pistons or Military Power Regulators:
- Buy them from the 'Exchange' (Auction House) in either Arrakeen or Harko Village. I've picked up 20 of these before I had an ornithopter for 200 Solari per piece.
- Buy them directly from the Vendor at the Crossroads Tradepost, or the Vehicle Vendors in either Arrakeen or Harko Village. This is expensive however at 3,500 Solari per piece.
Hydraulic Pistons & Military Power Regulators - The Deep Desert
You can also find Hydraulic Pistons and Military Power Regulators in Downed Ships, Buried Treasure and other PVE & POI content within the Deep Desert.
However, if you need these items for something you are trying to build, you will find it much faster to just farm them, or buy them, using our methods above.
