If you've reached a point in the game where you need Holtzman Actuators in order to craft a Shield or Booster then you might be wondering where this rare resource can be found.
Hotlzman Actuators are critical for crafting advanced technology including important items like the Sandbike Booster but you will find that they are in short supply.
There are four main sources for acquiring Holtzman Actuators, detailed below.
Destroyed Ornithopters
This is the easiest and most reliable way to get a lot of Holtzman Actuators, but it does require you to travel to one of the later zones in the game. In Hagga Rift, which sits in the top right corner of the map, you'll come across ornithopters that are destroyed and laying on the ground.
Apologies for the dark image but that's what you are looking for. You can use your scanner and cutter to then dismantle the ornithopter, taking home around ~30 Actuators!
Falling Ships
When you are out adventuring on Arrakis, sometimes you will notice a ship exploding and falling from the sky out into the open sands.
You can't really farm them this way though, as (I believe but have not been able to verify yet) that the falling ships are random.
If you do see one, approach it with care as you will likely incur the wrath of a nearby sandworm as you harvest the materials. Similar to the downed ornithopters, you'll need to use your scanner on a panel on the downed ship, and then you cutter to bust the panel open. Once open, you can loot the treasures inside.
Tradepost & City Vendors
Another more reliable method of acquiring Holtzman Actuators is to simply buy them from merchants at Tradeposts or Vendors. Although reliable, this will be an expensive source so come with plenty of Solari!
Caches & Chests
Finally, you can also loot Holtzman Actuators in various caches, chests and containers throughout the game. You'll typically find these within Scavenger Camps.
