Complex Machinery is a critical crafting component in Dune Awakening, required for a lot of different fabricator and refinery construction recipes, all the way through to the late game where you'll even need it for your Advanced Plastanium buildings.
Thankfully, this resource is pretty easy to farm and available in relative abundance, if you know where to look.
Where to Find Complex Machinery
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Complex Machinery can be found within the storage of fabricators, refineries and other machinery. Although these can be found in various locations, including Testing Stations, the most reliable source is at the Iron Works.
In Western Vermillius Gap we have the Southwest Ironworks and in Eastern Vermillius Gap, we have the Southeast Ironworks. Both are marked on the map below.
Each location has two separate Ironworks facilities located next to each other for a total of four facilities you should loot. You can do all of them in one quick trip and net yourself around ~120-150 Complex Machinery.
Navigating the Ironworks
Both the Southwest and Southeast Ironworks have a pretty much identical layout as far as I could tell.
Both sets of Ironwork consist of two facilities:
- A small building at the top of the Ironworks with two lootable machines; and
- A factory that you can drop down into which also contains two lootable machines (it actually contains three but the third only ever has Fuel Cells).
To enter the factory you'll need an ID band which is just down the stairs from the locked door.
Once inside the factory, you'll find one of the lootable machines hidden behind some machinery that is on fire, shown below.
