The Iron Eagle is one of Crimson Desert's most talked about additions since it was added in the recent patch. After a short delay, the pet was added to the game officially, and thankfully, it's super simple to obtain and have as your pet.
In this guide, we'll explain how you can find the Iron Eagle and tame it as your pet.
What is the Iron Eagle
The Iron Eagle uses the Phoenix mount "frame", though the model has a very unique design. It was first found in the files in the big April patch, causing community speculation and even a mod was released to alter the Phoenix model to match the Iron Eagle. Thankfully, the game was patched just a week later to include the Iron Eagle officially.
The Iron Eagle is a "bio-mechanical construct", with its metallic feathers and glowing eye alongside impressive armour plating. This legendary bird has one of the most unique models in the game, and stands out among the rest of the tamable pets found in Crimson Desert. As such, it's been a hot topic of discussion since it was first found in the game files.

Iron Eagle Location: Before you go
The Iron Eagle can be acquired by visiting the Hawkstone Ruins in the Delesyia region of the game. The Iron Eagle requires 20x Mercury and a Sotdae of Bond. These two items are required, so you must bring them to tame the pet. So, we need to do a little bit of prep work before we can tame the pet.
Where to get Mercury and Sotdae of Bond
The Sotdae of Bond was a new item added in the big April patch. To get it, complete the Unreachable Village. If you have already, it will be in your Camp Storage. The Mercury is a little more annoying. You need to head to Scholastone, and interact with the "troll" NPC that you have 100 Trust with; they will sell you Mercury.
If not, then you can farm it. You can find any Silver Liquid puddles in Silver Wolf Mountain, right above the “W” or above the middle of the letter. You will need the Charged Shot and Frost Imbue Element.

The location of Scholastone on your map. Found in the lower west side of Hernand City. If you've not been already, then our Head ot Scholastone guide can help you.
Location
- On your map, head to the Delesyia region of the map. Look for the "A" in Delesyia on the map; that's where you will find the Hawkstone Ruins.
- The Iron Eagle requires a very specific time for it to be active. You must interact with the rotatable cogwheel at 5 AM in-game for it to work.
- This will trigger a special "cutscene" that will wake up the Iron Eagle.
- The Iron Eagle will now be seen flying over the area.
How to Tame the Iron Eagle
Now for the actual taming of the Iron Eagle. Once 100 Trust has been achieved, you can approach the Iron Eagle and tame it. The mercury counts as 5+ Trust per "turn-in" with the Iron Eagle, so 20 in total are needed. Place the mercury on the Sotdae of Bond (bird feeder) and wait for the bird to land.
That will be enough to tame the Iron Eagle, who will now work like any other pet and pick up loot and follow you around.
