Crimson Deserts map is large, and the fog-of-war on the map covers everything not yet explored. Thankfully, you can use Bell Towers to see past the fog and get a clear picture of the surrounding world.
As is the case with a lot of things in Crimson Desert, the Bell Tower mechanic is not really explained. So, what are the Bell Towers, and where are they all?
In this guide, we'll show you where you can find each of the Bell Towers within the huge Crimson Desert map. You can often pair this with picking up Sealed Abyss Artifacts as well.
Note: A few of these Bell Towers can not be found or accessed until later in the game. The Towers are also not worth going out of your way to do; just do them as you go to the area. So bookmark this page for later.
How Bell Towers Work in Crimson Desert
If you’ve played Assassin’s Creed or The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the mechanic will feel familiar. However, there’s a unique Crimson Desert twist.
- The Climb: Locate a stone or wooden spire and scale it to the very top. These are normally very easy to climb.
- The Bell: Interact with the bell at the top of the tower.
- The Encounter: Once the bell tolls, a mysterious child will appear and reveal that they have removed the fog.
- The Reward: After a brief dialogue about "finding them," the child will magically dissipate the fog, revealing a permanent, clear view of the surrounding region on your world map.
Pro Tip: The area revealed by a single tower is relatively small. Don’t expect one tower to clear an entire kingdom; you’ll need to find several to get the full picture.
All Bell Tower Locations in Crimson Desert
While some towers are obvious landmarks, others are tucked away in the wilderness. Here is a breakdown of where to find them:
1. Hernand
- Toll of Hernand: The first Bell Tower is located West of the main Tavern in Hernand town. Simply climb the tower and ring the bell.
- Toll of Scholastone: Head Southwest of Hernand City, and directly West of Greymane camp. In the mountain area of the region in the upper courtyard, you'll find the next location. The Bell Tower is on the higher section up the staircase. The Bell is overlooking the lower area
- You will come here during Chapter 4
- Toll of Calphade: In the very far Northeast of Hernand City, you will find Calphade. The Bell Tower itself is located at the Church of Calphade in Thalwynd Village, which is on the West side of the Castle.
- You will come here in Chapter 6
2. Pailune
Note: You can't do this until Chapter 7
- Toll of Pailune: You can find the Bell Tower inside the capital city, located on the East side near the harbour.
3. Demeniss
Note: You can't do this Bell Tower until the city stops being hostile to you.
- Toll of Demeniss: The Bell Tower is located in the main Demeniss city, which is directly East of Hernand City, where we started. The tower is physically visible on the area map, located near the Cathedral of Demeniss.
4. Delesyia
- Toll of Delesyia: Head directly above the "A" in Delesyia on the map. You will find the Bell Tower inside the Northern section of the city itself, across from Deleysia Castle.
5. Crimson Desert
- Toll of Tommaso: Head to the far North East of Hernand City for the next one. If you find the "S" in Demeniss and head north until you see the "TASH" of Tashkalp, you will find the city where the Bell Tower is located. The Tower is on the north side of the city itself, with the tower again visible on the map.
- Toll of Varnia: Head even further north than the Toll of Tommaso. We are looking to head north until you see "Trader's Expanse" on the map. When you do, head further north to Varnia. The Bell Tower is located below the "R" and the "n" on the map. The Bell Tower itself is visible on the map once again inside the dome.
And that's all the Bell Tower location on the map. You will pass near almost all of these towers as you progress through the story so keep your eyes peeled!
