Crimson Desert Courtyard of Precision Abyss Island Puzzle Solution: How to Unlock the Lightning Skill

The Courtyard of Precision is the final challenge in the Spire of Stars chain. Unlike previous islands, this is not a logic-based puzzle but a high-stakes test of your reflexes and precision aiming. Completing this area grants you the highly coveted Lightning Skill.

Essential Mechanics

The following skills will be required:

• Axiom Force: Hold L3 / Tab to aim, release to fire. (Can be upgraded to "Charge" plates).
• Focus Shot: Aim the bow with L2/LT/Q, then L3 + R3 / X, mark targets with R1/RB/ RIght Click, then release the bow to fire.
• Force Palm: Press R3 / Middle Mouse (Use while jumping for the final button).
• Flight: Press Square / Space in mid-air.

Note: Have a lot of arrows before doing this. You can buy 60 from your Camp and another 60 from Hernand.

Phase 1: Ground-Level Targeting

To begin, you must activate three sets of yellow diamond targets located around the perimeter of the courtyard.

Pro Tip: Use this section to get familiar with your ability to mark targets quickly. The aerial section won't be very forgiving.

1. Southern Targets: Approach the first platform with the five targets, two of which will be yellow and firing lighting. Hit both with arrows in quick succession. Once hit, they turn blue; you must hit the second before the first's hidden timer resets.
2. Eastern Targets: Repeat the Focus Shot process for the eastern set. There are three targets here we need to hit.
3. Northern Targets: Locate the set of four targets to the north. Once again, use Focus Shot to mark and hit all four simultaneously, which will activate the central mechanism.

Phase 2: Aerial Precision

With all ground targets active, the central pit's air vent will engage.

1. The Ascent: Use Flight to ride the air current to its maximum height.
2. Lower Aerial Tier: Face the targets while floating at the apex. Activate Focus Shot. Your flight momentum ceases during Focus Shot, causing you to fall so you will have approximately five seconds to mark and fire before you drop too low to hit the targets.
3. Upper Aerial Tier: Return to the air vent and repeat the process for the higher set of targets. This tier has a stricter timing window and requires faster marking, this is the hardest part of the challenge.

Phase 3: Final Activation

Once all floating targets are cleared, return to the northern platform. Perform a Jumping Force Palm on the large circular button in the centre to finalise the puzzle.

Rewards & The Lightning Skill

Upon completion, the Courtyard of Precision Complete notification will appear. Approach the altar to collect your Abyss Artifact and permanent fast travel node.

Unlock the Lightning Skill

The Lightning Skill is automatically unlocked upon completion, though the notification is brief.

• How to Use: Open your Radial Menu (the one containing food/consumables) to find the Lightning skill there. This only shows you have it; using the skill can be found in your skills menu.
• Upgrade Path: This skill can be further enhanced through the Red Skill Tree to add elemental damage to your primary attacks and abilities. This will unlock the "Imbue Element" skill if Lighting is your first skill. This will allow you to add elemental imbuements to your normal attacks.
