Crimson Desert Vellua Fishermen's Guild Quest Guide: Beyond the Silent Waves & The Girl Lost in the Mists

Crimson Desert Vellua Fishermen's Guild Quest Guide: Beyond the Silent Waves & The Girl Lost in the Mists

Written by Geekmandem - 12th April 2026

Vellua is a coastal fishing village south of Hernand that's been overrun by pirates under the command of a captain called Sir Catfish; yes, really. The two quest chains tied to the Vellua Fishermen's Guild faction run in parallel through this area: Beyond the Silent Waves tasks you with liberating the village and driving off Sir Catfish, while The Girl Lost in the Mists sends you back to the Singing Catfish pirate ship to rescue a missing local named Rosa.

If you've already been out to the Singing Catfish for the Pirate King Hat, you'll know the ship well; the second quest chain takes you right back aboard it. This quest is also a way for you to get the Field Sprayer, which you need to give to Bremer in your camp.

Both chains are unlocked through the Vellua Fishermen's Guild in Hernand. Beyond the Silent Waves must be completed first before The Girl Lost in the Mists becomes available.

Rumor-Ridden Fishing Village

This is the intro quest that sends you to Vellua. You'll hear rumours about the village being in trouble at a small settlement on the road leading south.

Note: Do not fly directly to Vellua when you hear the rumour. Travel by road instead. Players who fly straight in and clear the village before triggering the proper quest sequence can break the follow-up objectives and end up softlocked. Arriving on horseback via the road ensures the quest triggers correctly.

Vellua in Peril

chief location

Pirates have seized control of Vellua, and the village chief is being held. This quest has two objectives: defeat the pirates occupying the village, and escort the village chief to safety.

The escorting the chief part is the hardest, not just because he is slow, but because the AI pathing is not great. You can get him to ride your horse, though it can be slightly tricky to actually get him to ride the horse. Some notes to make it easier:

  • Call your horse and wait for the chief to climb on with you.
  • Galloping out of the village is best; trying to walk him out on foot is slow, and he will constantly aggro guards that spawn in and kill him.
  • Clear enemies along your exit path before mounting up to reduce the risk of him getting hit mid-ride.

Sir Catfish also appears during this quest for a first encounter. This is worth paying attention to: observing Sir Catfish use Body Slam during this fight unlocks the Body Slam skill for Kliff. Don't rush the fight; let him use the move before finishing him off.

Note: A known issue can cause the "Stop the pirates' misdeeds" objective to stall and not complete. If this happens, try riding out of the village area entirely and returning to force a respawn cycle. If Sir Catfish doesn't appear at the final location, check the road near the village where you first heard the rumour; he can sometimes be found there instead.

Shadows in the Mist

Sir Catfish has retreated, but the threat isn't over. This quest sends you to defeat the pirates still occupying Vellua and then face Sir Catfish again for the main encounter. We recommend clearing the remaining pirate groups in and around the village first.

Sir Catfish is a fairly large boss fight. Stock up on food beforehand, as this is your main healing source. Here's some tips to defeat him in combat:

  • When Sir Catfish charges his attack, dodge quickly, as plumes of water will rise below you and stagger you.
  • Lure him onto dry land where possible; he moves significantly slower out of the water.
  • His lunge attack is very strong but easy to avoid. Alongside his quick attack, Sir Catfish is a very easy boss to land parry and counterattacks on.
  • This is your final chance to observe the Body Slam move.

Catfish Plate Helm

Completing this quest rewards the Voyages of Sir Catfish lore item, the Catfish Plate Helm, and an Abyss Artifact. This helmet gives you resistance to Fire, which can come in handy, especially for taming Camora, the legendary horse.

The Town Without Fog

Sir Catfish has fled. Return to the Chief of Vellua to report the outcome and wrap up the chain. This is a short resolution quest with no combat, just the closing conversation.

The Girl Lost in the Mists

With Beyond the Silent Waves completed, the follow-up chain unlocks.

The Missing Girl

A villager named Rosa has gone missing. The quest sends you to investigate her whereabouts along the coast near Vellua. Follow the clues along the shoreline east of the village; the trail leads towards the Singing Catfish.

Through the Current

missing girl end

Rosa is being held on the beach to the east of the village. Kill the pirates near her, and then set her free. Once you do, she will ask you to clear the rest of the pirates on the ship just off the coast. If you've already visited it for the Pirate King Hat, you know the approach: Take a rowboat (there should be some on the water next to Rosa), navigate the sea mines, and come in from the front or back to avoid cannon fire.

missing girl location

  • Board the ship and fight through the pirate crew on deck.
  • Clear the upper decks in the back rooms and the lower deck with the cannons, until this part is completed.
  • Return to Rosa, who will be on the beach still.

Pro Tip: If you haven't picked up the Pirate King Hat yet, grab it while you're on board. The chest is in the same below-deck area you'll be heading through anyway. No reason to make a second trip.

Once you do that, you will need to escort Rosa back to the village. Like earlier, she can ride your horse, but it is quite buggy. Fortunately, her AI is fast, so you can simply run to town and she will follow close behind.

Field Sprayer

Been wondering how to acquire the Field Sprayer in Crimson Desert? Well at the end of this mission, you are awarded the Field Sprayer as a reward. Once you equip the sprayer in the ranged weapon tab, you can use it to spray water over your crops. This speeds up the growing process a lot more.
