How to get the Hound Two-Handed Sword in Crimson Desert

How to get the Hound Two-Handed Sword in Crimson Desert

Written by Geekmandem - 28th March 2026

Crimson Desert is full of a lot of amazing weapons, and the Hound is very much one of those. Technically, an early-game weapon, it's also very easy to miss if you Bee-line the main quest. Since its quest is locked behind another set of quests for a different faction, it is tricky to discover by accident.

Unlike other good early game weapons, such as Survivor's Solitude, the Hound requires some extra steps to be able to get it. The location of Fort Hellwood, where the sword is located, is accessible from the start of the game; however, the sword is not. You need to trigger it via a series of quests first. In this guide, we'll go over those steps as easily as possible so you can get the sword.

How to get The Hound

Note: Before starting this guide, look in your faction quests under "Hernandian Parish of Solumen" and look for the quest "Where Land Meets Sky". If you have this quest, skip the steps below and just do that. If not, follow the guide. We got the "Where Land Meets Sky" quest at some point during this guide, we assume at the end of the Clue quests. But to save time, do check first.

To get the Hound, you need to do the following.

  • Progress the story to around Chapter 3/4, where you will start the House Serkis Faction Quests
  • You need to unlock the "Race in Hernand" quest. We had done 3 other quests here for this to unlock. This may not be required, but the quest "The Broken Trail" under the "Lord Amidst the Ruins" guest might be required, as it unlocks "William"
  • Once that's done, you will get "The Missing Family Seal" quest, and do the follow-up quests as shown below, starting from Trace of Intruder
  • This quest chain will eventually lead us to helping a priest in Senia with another quest
  • This will then finally lead to us acquiring the Hound

Trace of Intruder

You can complete this just by going to Lioncrest Watchtower, skipping the two other locations. Once you head to the top of the tower and examine the two clues, it will trigger a cutscene, which starts the next part of the quest.

Trace of Shadows

The quest will now take us to Duskwood, where we will need to complete a puzzle for the Trace of Shadows quest. That puzzle can be found in our Duskwood Hill Ruins guide (located at the top as the Duskwood River Ruins puzzle). Though you don't need to do the puzzle, you can just remove the white stone that is blocking the note. However, if you wish to complete the puzzle, place the stone back and complete the puzzle as normal.

You do not need to do the Traces of Three quest to progress.

Where All Comes Together

Follow this clue to the abandoned stone statue for the next clue, which will then lead us to meet up with the group once again. This will give us the next lead.

Heart of Anvil Hill

A similar pattern, once again, head to the location and get the two new clues. However, this time we also need to liberate Fort Anvil. If you've done that already, then it will be clear of enemies. You will need to clear the camp to 0%, there is a Fort Commander; the best way to take him out is to remove some of his guards and then just charge him. If you leave him at range, he will kill you quickly with his "Shotgun Axe".

You will find the last clues in the small "hut" in the corner behind the Iron Door. Open that, and loot the House Serkis Seal (shown above).

Once you hand that in, you will get a prompt that "House Serkis is gathering information". We can now move on, as this has now unlocked a new Faction Quest chain as shown below.

Where Land Meets Sky

Next up, we need to head Southeast to Senia to help out the Hernandian Parish of Solumen. This location is just north of Fort Hellwood, where we will end up later. Make your way up the hill to the church, clearing the enemies on the way. You can't really climb up, as the game will try to kill you with bats and bad mushrooms. So make sure you go up the roadside as suggested.

Clear the base, killing the commander in the process. Once complete, speak with Uriel the priest, who will give us the next quest.

Reliquary of Saint Senia

Now head into the fort on the hill and recover the Reliquary for the priest. We'll head into Fort Hellwood to clear it out now so we can do both quests. You will also have to face a mini-boss before you can go up the lift. At this stage, the quest to get the Hound will now appear in your quest log as shown below.

The Rabid Hound of Hellwood

Finally, we are at the point where the Hound is in our grasp. If you look at the map, the Reliquary of Saint Senia and the Rabid Hound of Hellwood will overlap on the same objective. Inside the fort, kill Hermon Beindel. Once done, you'll get the Hound. You can complete the Reliquary of Saint Senia quest by looting the Reliquary and taking it back to the Priest.

And that’s a wrap on our Hound guide. For more in-depth Crimson Desert coverage and expert tips, keep it locked to Method.
