Crimson Desert Roadmap from April to June 2026 - Crimson Desert Dev Update

The world of Pywel is expanding following a massive launch. Developer Pearl Abyss has officially unveiled the Crimson Desert Roadmap, detailing a series of updates scheduled to roll out between April and June.

The updates will include lots of fan-requested changes, from boss rematches to much-needed inventory management overhauls. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming changes to Crimson Desert.

New Combat Challenges

For players who have already conquered the main campaign, the endgame is getting a significant boost in replayability.

Boss Rematches

The most iconic encounters in Pywel are returning. Players will soon be able to initiate Boss Rematches, allowing you to:

• Refine combat strategies against late-game bosses.
• Test new gear and skill builds.
• Push your mechanical limits with optimised "speed-kill" approaches.

Re-blockading

The liberation of Pywel is never truly finished. The Re-blockading system introduces a dynamic world state where enemy remnants attempt to reclaim previously cleared locations. You will be tasked with driving these forces out once more, ensuring the Greymanes maintain their foothold.

Difficulty Settings

To cater to both casual explorers and hardcore combatants, three distinct difficulty tiers are being introduced:

• Easy: For those focusing on story and the "chunky cat" screenshots.
• Normal: The standard Pywel experience, this is where the game is now.
• Hard: Increased enemy aggression and damage for veteran Greymanes.

Character & Combat Evolution

Pearl Abyss is addressing balance gaps between Kliff's companions and adding highly requested cosmetic options.

Companion Buffs: Damiane & Oongka

One of the biggest community critiques involved the utility of Damiane and Oongka compared to Kliff.

• New Skills: Both companions will receive new abilities equivalent in power and utility to Force Palm and Axiom Force, bringing their combat viability in line with the current meta.

Cosmetics and Immersion

• Hide Back Weapons: A new toggle will allow you to hide weapons stored on your back, preventing clipping and improving immersion during exploration.
• Wardrobe Expansion: New outfits are on the way. Furthermore, several "Legacy" outfits, previously restricted to selling or donating, will be converted into wearable gear.

Quality of Life: Storage & Management

The "inventory tetris" struggle is coming to an end. The update introduces four specialised storage systems to streamline your journey.

Pets & Mounts

A wider variety of travelling companions is coming to the game. The update will add new pets, summonable mounts, and dedicated armour for mounts beyond just horses.

Technical Improvements

Pywel is getting a visual and functional tune-up to ensure a smoother experience across all platforms.

• Distant Scenery Quality: Enhanced rendering for backgrounds to increase depth and realism. This may result in a larger patch size due to high-resolution asset updates.
• UI Legibility: A minimum font size adjustment is being implemented to improve accessibility across all 14 supported languages.
• Controller/KBM Customisation: Expanded keybinding options for Keyboard & Mouse and more granular controller input customization.

The Sound of Pywel

For fans of the game's atmosphere, the Crimson Desert OST will be released for free on Steam and major streaming platforms soon.
