How to Craft Gunpowder

To craft Gunpowder, you must unlock the Millstones workstation. This can be done by obtaining Corn from one of the islands, which will unlock the crafting of Millstones Parts for 15 Stone at the Workbench. You will also need 15 Wood for the next step, which is easily obtainable by chopping trees. Here is the recipe for Millstones in Build Mode:

• Millstones: 1 Millstone Parts + 15 Wood

Once you have a Millstones up and running, you can use it to craft Gunpowder. You need Ash and Sulfur to create Gunpowder. The former can be obtained as a byproduct of making Charcoal in the Charcoal Kiln, while the latter can be collected from nodes that spawn randomly in the coastal jungles. Here is the recipe for Gunpowder:

• Gunpowder: 25 Ash + 25 Sulfur

Looted Gunpowder

You can also get Gunpowder as loot from different locations besides crafting it, such as:

• Chests found in caves or ruins: On all three islands, there are a few different ruins and underground caves. These have a variety of chests where you can find Gunpowder as loot, though the chance to find it is quite small.

• Looting Blackbeard’s Pirate Camps: As part of the “Rescuing Your Crew” quest, you are going to have to raid Blackbeard’s Pirate Camps to save your crew. In the camps, you will find different storage items like chests or sacks with Gunpowder in them.
  
  
• Killing Enemy Pirates: As part of the “Rescuing Your Crew” quest, you will also have to defeat Sailors who sometimes drop Gunpowder.

How to Use Gunpowder

It’s important to remember that you need both bullets and Gunpowder to use guns. When you acquire Gunpowder, it is automatically equipped in your inventory in the Ammo slot beside the bullets. You can also turn on auto-refill to make reloading the weapon during combat much easier.
