Wondering what the max level is in Windrose? In this short guide we'll explain what the current max level is and break down all of the different methods by which you can obtain XP to reach it (spoiler: there aren't many).
What's The Max Level In Windrose
The current max level in Windrose is Level 15. To reach this Level however you will need to basically 100% the game (outside of the hunting challenges) because it requires completing almost every POI, main quest and side quest. We had two quests still to complete after we reached it (not quest chains, individual quests).
Maximum Number of Stat & Talent Points in Windrose
This means that once you reach max level, you will have the following Stat Points and Talents to play with:
- 45x Stat Points
- 12x Talent Points
You do not get a Talent Point for every level, so you actually don't really have many to play with and need to allocate them wisely.
How To Earn XP In Windrose: All Sources
There are really only three sources of XP in Windrose, though most of you probably won't have even noticed the third:
- Completing quests (main quests, side quests, faction quests and tutorial quests)
- Completing POIs
- Exploring Mines/Ore Deposits
We don't need to go through each of these as they are pretty self-explanatory however just to touch on the third source. You will see if you mouse over mines/ore deposits on the map that they have an 'Exploration Reward' of 50xp. You earn this reward just by exploring that POI.
Farming XP In Windrose: Is It Worth It?
When you first reach a new zone in Windrose, for example when you reach the Foothills, you will immediately find enemies much higher level than you, say maybe Level 7 or Level 8. Because you might still be Level 5 or 6 you might feel too far behind but you should note that gear is way more impactful than your Level in Windrose.
Farming Plague Enemies in the Cursed Swamp becomes much, much easier once you upgrade your weapon to Level 15 and Ascend it to Epic.
If you reach a new zone and you are struggling, the first thing you should do is aim to upgrade your gear. In general, gear level is the most impactful single consideration when it comes to managing the difficulty of enemies.
