The Rested buff is not just a boon, it's an essential buff that you need to maintain pretty much 100% uptime on when you are outside of your base. That's because without the Rested buff, your Stamina will recover at a much slower rate. So how does the Rested buff work and what can we do to improve it? Let's dig in.

How To Get The Rested Buff In Windrose

• Rest At A Bonfire: Standing near any Bonfire for a few seconds will apply the Rested buff which you can see in the bottom left of your screen.
• Duration: The buff lasts for a set period of time, starting at 7 minutes. You can extend this duration by increasing the Comfort level of your base.
• Rest On A Ship: Being on your ship (not Boat) will also provide you with a Rested buff, equal to your highest level Bonfire Comfort level.

Benefits Of Having The Rested Buff

Once active, the Rested buff provides much faster Stamina Regeneration, reducing downtime during combat and resource gathering.

Tip: Bonfires can be built anywhere for just 5 Wood, so if your buff runs out while you are out adventuring, just pop up a temporary Bonfire and you'll get a 7-minute buff.

How To Improve The Rested Buff In Windrose (Comfort System)

The Rested buff and Comfort system in Windrose is very similar to that of Valheim. If you want to maximize the value of the Rested buff, you need to invest in your base’s Comfort Level.

Increasing the Comfort Level of your base will increase the duration of your Rested buff, by 1 minute per additional Comfort Level. This means a Comfort Level of 20 will result in a 27-minute Rested buff.

You can increase your Comfort Level by building Decorations. Some things to note regarding this system:

• Build Decorations: Each Decoration you place increases Comfort Level by +1
• Decorations Don't Stack: Placing multiple Decorations from the same Decoration category does not increase the Comfort Level further with the exception of Trophies.
• Trophies: You earn Trophies by completing 'Challenges' (such as killing 40 Boars). All Trophies increase your Comfort Level by +1 and they do stack.
