You might have heard some players talking about Smasher and thought 'wow I wonder what kind of incredible weapon that must be', perhaps a huge two-handed club? Well... it's a fish. In fairness it is a very large fish, and it is certainly capable of doing some serious smashing.
Windrose Secret Weapon: What Is Smasher?
Smasher is a one-handed 'mace' in Windrose of the aquatic variety that is obtained by fishing. We aren't certain of the exact drop chance but if we are going by my experience then it's low. Very low.
Smasher is obtained at Rare quality and cannot be ascended to Epic. It is crafted as normal at the Weaponsmith Workshop for standard crafting materials (ingots, Smithing Flux etc) and can be upgraded as normal to Level 15.
Being a Rare item, Smasher has only one effect/ability which is as follows:
- "Hits have a small chance to knock enemies down, the higher your Strength, the higher the chance."
The weapon has A-tier Strength scaling and deals 225 Crude damage.
How To Get Smasher In Windrose
As previously mentioned, Smasher is simply obtained by fishing. Although we caught it in 'deep' waters out in the High Seas, we believe other players have caught it in the shallows just outside their base.
You will no doubt start to lose hope after you've looted your 500th fish but be patient and keep casting, for Smasher will arrive eventually to bring you endless joy.
Tip: Obtaining and ascending the Major Fisherman's Ring by completing the fishing challenge will make it much easier to obtain Smasher.
How Good Is Smasher In Windrose?
Honestly, awful. As far as weapons go in Windrose it's probably one of the worst weapons in the game, with only one effect which procs maybe 1 in 5 or 6 hits at best, at 60 Strength.

However, and this is important... it's pretty fun. When Smasher procs, it sends enemies hurtling backwards through space and time, temporarily staggering them. As it's effectively a mace, it also does pretty high Posture damage to enemies too, so there's also that.
