How to Farm Wood Fast in Windrose

Wood is one of the core resources in Windrose and you will constantly have to collect heaps of it to build items and/or craft tools. This can be a very tedious process, so here is a guide on how to farm Wood fast in Windrose in the early game.

Wood Collecting/Farming Methods In Windrose

1. Collect Scattered Logs From Beaches and Coastal Jungles

At the very start of the game, this will be your only method however you will pretty much never do it again after that.

2. Craft an Axe And Chop Down Trees

To farm wood efficiently, you need to chop it quickly using an Axe. Early on, you’ll only have access to a Stone Axe, which does a fine job at the start. You will want to focus on Fiscus trees where possible.

Craft Copper and Iron Axes

The Copper Axe and eventually the Iron Axe are much better options for chopping trees, once you unlock them. These have more attack power, which lets you chop down trees with fewer strikes. The Iron Axe can also be upgraded at the Sawhorse for increased potency. Here are the recipes for Copper and Iron Axes:

• Copper Axe: 5 Copper Ingots + 5 Wood
• Iron Axe: 5 Iron Ingots + 5 Wood

Make the Trees Fall Onto Other Trees

A great way to farm Wood is by making trees fall onto other trees to create something of a domino effect. You can do this easy hack on hilltops by cutting the first tree at an angle. It will then fall onto the next tree, taking that tree and more down in a chain reaction. This can significantly reduce the amount of time you spend on getting Wood if done right.

3. Shoot Cannons From Your Ketch at the Forest

The most fun and lazy way to farm Wood is by using the Cannons on your Ketch to deforest entire areas at once. If your shot is good enough, you can even destroy the logs down to Wood that you can just pick up. Though this doesn’t always work because of the long range of Cannons.
