All Ships In Windrose: How To Unlock Every Ship

Sailing the seven seas in Windrose is one of the most enjoyable parts of the game but those naval battles get tough fast. This guide will break down every available ship in the game right now, their stats, and how you can acquire them.

All Ships In Windrose: Ketch (3 Ships)

The Ketch is the first real ship you acquire early in the game for completing the quest chain 'Need A Bigger Boat'. If you haven't reached it yet, don't worry, its part of the main storyline. The 'stock' Ketch is a great little ship and will see you right the Coastal Jungle zone, as long as you upgrade it at the Wharf.

There are three Ketch variants, the one you start with, the Blackbeard Ketch and the Brethren Ketch. These are shown below.

Recommended Ketch Variant

We recommend sticking with the 'Stock' variant of the Ketch for your early adventures in the Coastal Jungle. It has a good balance of health and speed, and although access to the 24lb cannons on the Blackbeard Ketch is huge, it won't be long until you upgrade to a Brig.

Ketch Construction Cost

The Ketch is very easy to craft and you will only need the following to build any of the variants:

• 100x Nails (20 Copper Ingots which is 80 Copper Ore)
• 150x Wood
• 40x Coarse Fabric (120 Plant Fibers)
• 30x Rope (90 Plant Fibers)

All Ships In Windrose: Brigantine (3 Ships)

The Brigantine (Brig) is the second type of ship you'll be able build in Windrose and is a very significant upgrade on the Ketch. To unlock the Brig, you have to acquire the Ship Designs from the Brethren Of The Coast Faction for 1,000 Piastre. You need to have a Reputation Level of 2 with them to buy the plans.

Recommended Brigantine Variant

Although it comes with a higher skill ceiling as a result of it's lower health, we recommend the Blackbeard Brig variant for your second ship. This beast can pack 6x 24lb cannons (we recommend the Perfectly Ordered 24-Pounders) and has a fast movement speed of 22kn. Because of it's low health, positioning and movement will be more important in naval battles.

Brigantine Construction Cost

The Brig is where things start to get pretty spicy in terms of construction cost. You will need a lot of resources for this ship (same for all variants):

• 200x Nails (40 Copper Ingots / 20 Iron Ingots > 160 Copper Ore / 60 Iron Ore)
• 80x Copper Ingots (240 Copper Ore, 80 Charcoal > 80 Wood]
• 40x Timber (120 Hardwood)
• 200x Wooden Planks (400 Wood]
• 40x Linen Fabric (120 Flax Fiber)
• 120x Coarse Fabric (360 Plant Fiber)
• 40x Rope (120 Plant Fiber)
• 30x Shipwright's Tools (Brethren Provisioner, 10 Piastre per so 300 total)

The important thing to note here is that this brings the total Piastre cost of the Brigantine to 1,300 Piastre which is 1,000 for the Ship Design and 300 for the Tools.

All Ships In Windrose: Frigate (3 Ships)

The most powerful ship variant in the game currently is the Frigate. Like the Brig, the Frigate is also acquired by purchasing the Ship Designs from the Brethren Of The Coast Faction but you will need to have a Reputation Level of 4 with them, and the Designs cost a staggering 3,000 Piastre - so don't expect access to this ship until the late game.

Recommended Frigate Variant

We'll update this section in due course but our early take is that the Blackbeard Frigate is likely to be the ship of choice here.

Upcoming Ships In Windrose

We don't know a tonne about what's coming in terms of new ships in Windrose, but we do know that there will be more. Rumour has it that the next ship will be a Galleon so stay tuned for more information there! We'll keep this guide updated as new ships become available.
