So you've made it all the way through the Cursed Swamps and arrived at the final boss of the zone: the High Priestess, who turns out to be... a giant toad. Of the bosses so far, the High Priestess is probably the easiest, especially if you are fully geared for it.
Let's dig in.
How To Beat High Priestess In Windrose: Gear Up
The High Priestess is not an overly complex mechanical fight but she does have a lot of HP so if you are not properly geared for the encounter, be prepared for a bit of a slog.
We highly recommend running a Rapier build for this encounter as it is probably the most effective build against bosses, especially the Rapier Of Devastation variant. Our Saber Dragon Crit Build is also very strong here.

You'll want to have Level 15 weapons and armor to make the encounter as easy as possible and of course bring the best food and elixirs you can craft.
High Priestess Abilities
High Priestess is a fairly daunting-looking boss fight, but the fight is fairly simple. Here is a quick look at her abilities.
| High Priestess' Abilities | How To Deal With It |
| Melee Attacks & Tongue Swipe | Perfect Block, otherwise dodge > block |
| Tail Swipe | Dodge or avoid |
| Rollover | Dodge |
| Acid Globules (ranged attack) | Sprint away |
| Charge (unblockable) | Dodge |
How to Beat High Priestess: Fight Strategy
There's two ways you can do this fight, the way you are supposed to do it, or the way we recommend doing it. First let's look at the way you are supposed to do it.
The High Priestess has large pustules along her back and sides that, when popped, deal high Posture damage. Once the High Priestess' posture is broken, you can then deal huge damage by attacking the vulnerable creature that emerges at the front.
However, when you attack the High Priestess head on in melee, you can actually avoid most of her deadliest abilities as she will just repeatedly auto attack you (for the most part). Her combo is a variation of: Right Swipe > Left Swipe > Right Slam > Tongue Swipe
All of these attacks can be Perfect Blocked (which is why we recommend using something like a Rapier or Saber), dealing significant Posture damage. Throw in a couple of shots from Drake's Double-Barreled Pistol whenever it's off cooldown and you'll phase her easily.

You will deal the majority of your damage to the High Priestess during the intermission phase.
During the intermission, deal as much damage as possible to the High Priestess' true from which appears from the mouth. If running the Rapier of Devastation, make sure you have full (8) stacks and the Vulnerable effect from your Pistol before attacking.
That's really it as far as this boss goes!
Reward for defeating High Priestess
You will get 10 Tears of Sorrow in addition to the Charon's Obol quest item for defeating the High Priestess.
