Where To Find Quagmire Powder In Windrose (Best Farming Route)

If you've reached Windrose's end-game, one thing will have become abundantly clear: Quagmire Powder is a nightmare to come by. It's a resource that is almost entirely gained through combat and is needed for producing Mire Metal Ingots, an essential crafting component.

Mire Metal Ingots are required for most end-game items including weapons, Armor and ship gear so Quagmire Powder will rapidly become a bottleneck. In this guide we break down our recommended farming route so you can obtain as much Quagmire Powder as possible.

Tip: We recommend combining this farming route with our Tainted Bile farming route, so Ingot Arborum doesn't become a bottleneck for you later.

Where To Find Quagmire Powder: Farming Routes

All 'Plague' enemies drop Quagmire Powder (except Plague Crushers), including Thralls, Hunters, Warriors and Witches. However, the most efficient way to farm Quagmire Powder is to kill as many low-level Thralls and Hunters as possible as these are easy to deal with and quick to kill.

Quagmire Powder Farming Location 1: Ancient Debris Sites

The best place to farm Quagmire Powder is the Ancient Debris sites. All four of these sites contain a large number of Level 12 Plague enemies (almost entirely Thralls and Hunters) so clearing them out is quick and easy.

There are four islands in the Cursed Swamp that contain POIs (and another with the boss). Three of these islands contain Ancient Debris sites, with one island containing two sites. That means there are a total of four Ancient Debris sites to farm.

Other than the abundance of low level enemies, the other great thing about this is route is that it's also incredibly easy to top up your Ancient Scraps as needed.

Quagmire Powder Farming Location 2: Tainted Ruins Of An Ancient Temple

The other recommended farming spot for Quagmire Powder is the Tainted Ruins Of An Ancient Temple as it contains a very large number of Plague enemies within a small space. It is also incredibly efficient if you are combining it with Tumbaga Ingot farming and our Tainted Bile farming route as both are in the same location.

However, and this is important, this farming spot is much more challenging than the Ancient Debris sites as all of the enemies are Level 15. For this reason, we'd only recommend farming Quagmire Powder here if you have maxed out (Level 15) gear, and ideally are using one of the best enchanted weapons (Rapier of Devastation, Plague Halberd).

Plague Thrall & Hunter Respawn Times

We believe that the respawn time of these enemies is around 120-150 minutes. In a full sweep of the Ancient Debris sites, you should be able to collect 40-50 Quagmire Powder and (if you aren't stopping to kill crocs or mine Ancient Scraps) it should only take you around 15-20 minutes.

Quagmire Powder Farming Tips

Here's some additional tips to make your farming Quagmire Powder as efficient as possible:

  • Set your Fast Travel Location as close to the Ancient Debris sites as possible.
  • Combine this farming route with our Tainted Bile or Tumbaga Ingot farming routes so you have everything on cooldown at the same time.
  • Consider running one of our builds to optimise farming speed and help with combat.
