All Tumbaga Ingot Locations In Windrose: Can You Farm Tumbaga Ingots?

Tumbaga Ingots are a crafting material in Windrose that have a unique purpose: they are required to upgrade (ascend) the rarity of weapons, jewellery and ship gear all the way to Epic.

Are Tumbaga Ingots Finite?

Tumbaga Ingots can only be found within certain POIs within the game but it might surprise you to know Tumbaga Ingots are not limited/finite. There is a location towards the end of the game where you can farm Tumbaga Ingots which we'll cover later. Also, half of your Tumbaga Ingots (rounded down) are returned when you disassemble an item.

How to Ascend Items In Windrose

You can ascend an item in Windrose by navigating to the 'Ascend' tab of the following crafting stations:

• Ascending Weapons = Weaponsmith Workshop
• Ascending Jewellery = Jewellery Table
• Ascending Ship Gear = Shipwright's Workshop

Ascending an item can have various benefits including increasing its stats and unlocking powerful new abilities. In the case of weapons and ship gear, upgrading certain items to epic can completely change their power level. You can every weapon's epic ability in our weapon guide.

The Cost of Ascending Items In Windrose

The cost of Ascending an item in Windrose depends on the item. Let's go through each of them.

Cost of Ascending Weapons

Weapons can only be Ascended once, from Rare to Epic. Uncommon weapons cannot be Ascended.

• One-Handed Weapon: 7x Tumbaga Ingots
• Two-Handed Weapon: 9x Tumbaga Ingots
• Pistol: 7x Tumbaga Ingots
• Musket: 9x Tumbaga Ingots
• Blunderbuss: 9x Tumbaga Ingots

Cost of Ascending Ship Gear

Ship Gear can also only be Ascended once, from Rare to Epic. Uncommon ship gear (standard cannons & Boarding Party Gear) cannot be Ascended.

• 12lb Cannons: 7x Tumbaga Ingots
• 24lb Cannons: 8x Tumbaga Ingots
• 36lb Cannons 9x Tumbaga Ingots
• Hull Modification: 7x Tumbaga Ingots

Cost of Ascending Jewellery

Jewellery, oddly, does not require any Tumbaga Ingots to Ascend, and can be ascended all the way from Common to Epic. Including for completeness:

This brings the total for all three zones to 98 Tumbaga Ingots. It's possible we missed a couple (let us know if we you spotted any we missed!) so let's say that the total current number of Tumbaga Ingots you can collect from your first run-through of the POIs and quest completions is around ~100.

Farming Tumbaga Ingots In Windrose (Infinite Supply)

If you've completed all the POIs and you have run out of Tumbaga Ingots then worry not for you can indeed farm them. The location you will want to head to is the same location where you previously found them in most abundance: The Tainted Ruins of Ancient Temple in the Cursed Swamp.

You won't be able to loot the Ancient Chests again but all of the 'Containers' (as shown in the image above) will indeed respawn and will reward you with 1 Tumbaga Ingot when looted again. This means you can upgrade your gear as much as you want without worrying you are going to run out.
