Another Crimson Desert update means another cool pet added in the form of the Baby Wyvern. Unlike previous pets, however, the Baby Wyvern has one key added bonus. In a future update, the pet will become a mount!
In this guide, we'll show you how to get the Baby Wyvern, while also showing you how you can prepare for when the update is added to make that Baby Wyvern the mount we've always wanted.
What Is the Baby Wyvern In Crimson Desert?

The Baby Wyvern is one of 20 new small animals added to Crimson Desert's pet roster in patch 1.08, and it is very much the headliner of that list. Like the Iron Eagle and Abyss Heuklang before it, this falls into the 'Legendary Creature' category, which means there's going to be a bit of work involved in getting your hands on one.
What makes it different from every other pet in the game right now, though? Pearl Abyss has confirmed the Baby Wyvern will grow and eventually be registerable as a full mount in a future update. So you're not just getting a cute companion, you're essentially raising your own dragon.
How to get the Baby Wyvern In Crimson Desert

The process is fairly simple to get the Baby Wyvern. Head to the Three Brothers' Cliff, which is located in southwestern Delesyia near the Serpent Shrine. You don't need to clear the area of enemies, but it does make it a little easier.

Once there, head to the area of the ruins shown above and find the section of wall with a stone covering it. Clear out the stone with your Focused Force Palm attack. Head into the cave and pick up the egg lying on the ground.
You now need to carry this egg to one of the "active" locations in the area outside the cave. These show up on your minimap as nests. You know you're in the right location because the nest will "crack." Place the egg inside, and it will begin to glow gold. This means you've placed it correctly.

Now you just need to wait around 5-10 minutes of real time for the egg to be ready. You know it's done because it will start to crack and move around. When it does, you can hatch the egg, which will award you with your very own Baby Wyvern.
How to Prepare Your Baby Wyvern Into a Mount
Note: This is mostly speculation; we'll update as we get any confirmed information.
The mount upgrade isn't in the game just yet, but that doesn't mean there's nothing to do in the meantime. In fact, getting ahead of this now is probably going to save you a headache when the update does land.
The most important thing you can do right now is build Trust with your Baby Wyvern. Every pet in Crimson Desert runs on the Trust system, and based on how previous legendary pets have worked, Trust is almost certainly going to factor into unlocking the mount upgrade when it arrives. Petting your pets +25 Trust per day, and feeding it will add more on top of that.
Speaking of feeding, it's worth experimenting with different food types to find the wyvern's favourite. Legendary pets in particular tend to have a specific food that grants a significantly higher Trust boost than standard options. The Iron Eagle, for example, gets a massive bump from mercury. Finding your wyvern's preferred food early means you'll be stacking Trust much faster.
Beyond that, just keep it active and registered as your companion. There's no confirmed information yet on what the mount upgrade will require, but having a high-Trust, well-fed wyvern ready to go when the patch drops puts you in the best possible position.
We'll update this guide as soon as Pearl Abyss reveals the details.
