The Fire Support mission is around 50% of the way through the epic Chapter 6 narrative story. The quest in question is the Destroy the Smoking Watchtowers part of the quest. While the task is simple, we felt the need to write a guide as we found ourselves facepalming slightly when we realised what we did.
Fire Support Chapter 6: Destroy the Smoking Watchtowers
- Goal: Destroy four bear Watchtowers
- The issue: Visual clarity of the area makes it hard to find the watchtowers or hit the wrong ones
Where Are The Smoking Watchtowers?
The primary reason players get stuck here is visual clarity. From the cannon’s point of view, it appears as though the smoke is rising from the large towers in the distant background. The Smoking Watchtowers are actually right much closer than that, in front of the cannon.
Pro tip: You must ignore the distant horizon. The actual targets are the four watchtowers in the immediate foreground.

Below in the image, we will try to clear up the issue and where we came unstuck.
As you can see, the watchtowers you need to destroy are in the foreground. The issue is that, in-game, it looks a lot like the smoke is coming from the four towers in the background. This is an issue because when you aim the cannon, you can't actually see the towers. This is when we realised we might have been aiming at the wrong thing.
So yeah, aim at the four towers at the front. If you are also stuck, then we're glad to help. If you're not stuck, then you won't read this anyway, and we can just look silly on our own.
