How to Craft Boots in Windrose: Completing Task Four of the Islander Tutorial

Crafting boots is one of the mandatory tasks in Windrose. You will be asked to craft them during the Islander Tutorial as the fourth task, so knowing how to craft boots in Windrose is important.

How to Craft Boots in Windrose for the Islander Tutorial

Gathering the Resources Needed

You need to acquire Coarse Fabric and Rough Hide for crafting your boots. To get Coarse Fabric, you must first collect Plant Fiber from bushes, ferns, or grass from the Coastal Jungle. Then, put 3 Plant Fiber in the Workbench and you should have 1 Coarse Fabric.

To acquire Rough Hide, you are going to have to kill Boars and Sows. Sows drop 1 Rough Hide while Boars drop up to 2. It might seem like a no-brainer to farm the latter, but be wary of their dangerous charges.

Crafting the Boots

For the boots, you need to have an Armor and Clothing Workshop, which is unlocked as soon as you reach task four of the Islander Tutorial. Here is the recipe for building the workshop:

• Armor and Clothing Workshop: 5 Wood and 10 Coarse Fabric

Here is the recipe for crafting boots:

• Survivor’s Boots: 2 Rough Hide and 2 Course Fabric

Once you have gathered all the resources, make your way to the Armor and Clothing Workshop to make your boots.

Equipping the Boots

Now that you have your boots crafted, equip them by going to your Inventory and swapping your Torn Boots out. The Survivor’s Boots provide 100 Defence on top of the base value, which helps quite a lot when going toe-to-toe with stronger enemies like the Boar, Drowned, Thorned Fiddler, or Sailor.
