Raid Setup
Introduction
Welcome to our Mythic The Lost Explorers guide, an earlier boss fight in The Venomous Abyss Raid in Midnight Season 2. This guide covers the fight mechanics and the strategy we recommend to defeat this boss on Mythic difficulty.
Fight Style: Council (three explorers)
Recommended Setup: 2x Tank / 4x Healer / 14x DPS
Required utilities: 1 Player handling the boxes
Hero/Lust usage: On Pull
Easy Mode
- Plays very close to Heroic. One real Mythic addition: box pops now hit the whole raid with a hard-ticking bleed.
- Assign one dedicated box popper. Safe pattern: 2 stacks, let it drop, 2 more, repeat. Never let boxes glow green and Relic Rupture the raid.
- Fish a boss when Final Ascension has ~4 seconds left, every time.
- Recommended fish order: Gebbo, Iku, Nama. You start with the hardest and the fight eases as it goes.
- Gebbo is the hard part: only 1 mushroom per bomb on Mythic. Marker your bombs and mushroom baits, and don't pop the mushroom early.
- Every Blink Nova goes 20+ yards from melee. Shell Spin only targets melee, so bait it out toward the wall.
- Once you clear Gebbo's ultimate, the fight becomes very forgiving.
Mechanics
Splinters
On Mythic, stomping a crate no longer just bleeds the stomper. Popping a box now inflicts a hit plus a stacking bleed on the entire raid for 6 seconds.
This is what forces a controlled, dedicated box-popping rotation instead of letting anyone stomp crates freely.
Strategy
Explorers feels very close to Heroic, since the fight has only one real Mythic addition on top of the base kit. Read the Heroic guide for the full fight, this section covers what changes.
The Box Bleed
Each box you pop now applies a hard-ticking bleed to the whole raid, so this is no longer a "whoever's nearby stomps it" job. Assign one dedicated player to handle all the box pops.
Safe Pattern: always get to 2 stacks, let it drop, then 2 more, and so on.
You can push to 3 stacks if needed, but never during Blink overlaps or other spicy moments.
The player doing the boxes also has to stay on-time. Boxes left on the ground for too long will start glowing green and explode with Relic Rupture, which wipes the raid, so this is a real responsibility, not a filler assignment.
Fish Order and Boss Balance
Always use the fish on a boss when Final Ascension has about 4 seconds left on the cast. Tanks start with Iku and Gebbo tanked together, then alternate bosses based on their ultimate timing and HP so all three stay roughly equal the whole fight.
The recommended fish order is:
- Gebbo
- Iku
- Nama
The logic is simple: you start with the hardest ultimate and the fight gets easier as it goes.
Gebbo (the hard one)
Gebbo is by far the toughest, because on Mythic you only get 1 mushroom per bomb. Set markers for both the bombs and the mushroom bait.
The mushroom is baited on ranged, so have all ranged stand on the purple marker. The moment it appears, move away, but stay close. Have the person with the bomb move to the edge of the room and far enough away from the raid / mushroom, do the same again with the 2nd bomb.
Important: If someone pops the mushroom before it's time to jump, you have no way past the Blast Wave unless you have blinks or similar, and even then most of your raid is dead.
The 2nd bait happens the instant you land from the first mushroom pop, so it should spawn near the same area. Someone has to identify where it landed and instantly move off it, because you need that mushroom for the 2nd bomb.

Iku and Nama
Iku plays the same as on Heroic, spread out, don’t stack and run into a patch on the floor of the opposite type to the one you had.
Important: make sure everyone clears their Frostfire stacks for certain, since a leftover debuff into the next set is an Elemental Explosion wipe on Mythic.
Nama's Mighty Thud is straightforward: have players line up in the order they get the mechanic, then everyone soaks the first hit, standing on the side of the soak to get knocked into the second, then into the third (you get knocked based on the middle of the soak).

Blink Nova and Shell Spin Positioning Notes
Every Blink Nova needs to be moved a decent distance from the raid, at least 20 yards from melee.
Tip: If Iku is being Tanked on their own, try to position the Blink Nova close to where Iku already is, but not too close to the raid. If Iku is being tanked with Gebbo, try to position Blink Nova ahead of the direction Gebbo is walking, but again not too close to the raid.
Shell Spin only casts toward melee, so bait it out toward the edge of the room, away from the middle, whenever possible.

Closing out the Fight
The fight becomes very forgiving once you're past Gebbo's ultimate. From there it comes down to the basics: pop all boxes slowly and in control, make sure everyone clears their debuffs during Iku's ultimate, and don't stand in the box spawn circles, since those can one-shot you.
