Corrosive powers is a new player power system, released in WoW Midnight Patch 12.1, that only works in World Content, Delves and Prey. These are very powerful effects dealing large amounts of damage to enemies or giving you huge stat buffs.
In this guide we go over how to unlock Corrosive Powers in WoW Midnight Season 2 and which of the Corrosive Powers are the best to use.
How to Unlock Corrosive Codex Powers in WoW Midnight
Corrosive Powers first need to be unlocked, this is through a short questline that can be found in the Vaults of Atal’Utek. This quest rewards 8 Corrosive Souls, which can be used on the Altar of Corrosion, found in the Vaults of Atal’Utek, to access the Corrosive Codex.
The Corrosive Codex will show you all the powers available, each one will cost 8 Corrosive Souls to unlock. Initially you can only have one power active at a time, and once you have unlocked half of the codex (6 powers), you can have 2 powers active at the same time.
Best Corrosive Codex Powers in WoW Midnight Season 2
All of the Corrosive Powers can be easily swapped by returning to the Vault of Atal’utek and interacting with the Corrosive Altar, where you will be able to select a different power you have unlocked. Clicking on the currently active power will deactivate it and allow you to pick a new one.
Note: The Corrosive Altar can also be found at the start of Delves.
The best corrosive powers are going to be similar for most classes. Our recommended order for the best Corrosive Codex Powers:
You can change between the powers that you have unlocked, but the amount of Corrosive Souls you can get per week is limited, therefore we would recommend unlocking Ulatek’s Gift first; although it can take a little while to ramp up, it does a large amount of damage and doesn’t require any other power to be good.
Once you can have multiple Corrosive Codex Powers active at once, we would recommend using the Ouroboric Cycle and either the Accursed Poison or Plague of Corrosion Power, as these will poison targets; which can activate secondary effects on the Ouroboric Cycle, or other Corrosive Codex Powers if you choose to use a different one.
There is a case to use Gorgoneion Gaze, which when you drop below 50% health turns enemies around you into stone, making them inactive for 10 seconds and slows them when they break out; this can quite easily save you while you are in Delves, doing Prey and Vaults of Atal’Utek.
