Void Assaults are a new open world event for Patch 12.0.5 of the Midnight WoW Expansion. This event will take place in either Eversong Woods or Zul’Aman and will rotate weekly between both of the zones.
When a Void Assault is active in either of the zones there will be Void Strikes and Void Incursions active inside of the assaulted zone. Completing Void Strikes and Incursions will reward you with Field Accolades used to purchase Hero and Champion track catch up gear and new collectables.
There are a ton of new things to collect including new mounts and the Void recolour of the Tier 2 Armour Sets previously seen during the WoW anniversary event.
Getting Started with Void Assaults
When you first login to the patch you should have a quest pushed to you quickly running you through all of the important NPCs revolving around the Void Assaults world event, including Vendors and Quest givers.
If the quest isn’t pushed to your character you can pick the quests up from Ranger Captain Lilatha on the top levels of The Bazaar inside of Silvermoon City.

After you have completed the short quests you will receive a new quest called Void Strike. This quest will ask you to go and investigate a Void Strike.
Once you have completed the Void Strike quest you will gain access to the weekly quest called Void Assaults: Zul’Aman or Void Assaults: Eversong Woods. The quest available will depend on what zone is currently being assaulted by the void.

Participating in Void Assaults
Once a Void Assault has started in either Eversong Woods or Zul’Aman there will be Void Strikes and Void Incursions active in the zone.
Void Stikes
Void Strikes are smaller quick objectives similar to world quests that can be completed solo or as a group. Void Strikes can be found all around the zone that is currently being assaulted by the void. Once a Void Strike has been completed another one will quickly start up again somewhere else inside of the zone.
You can find Void Strikes on your world map with its own unique map marker to easily identify them.
When you enter a Void Strike you will have a certain objective to complete, the objectives are shared between all players currently interacting with the Void Strike and will likely be completed very quickly at the start of the patch. Most objectives in Void Strikes are simple and only require you to fill a bar by defeating mobs in the area.
Void Strikes are repeatable and will reward you with a Field Pouch when completed. Field Pouches contain Voidlight Marl, Field Accolades and a small amount of gold. As Void Strikes are repeatable this can be a great way to farm Voidlight Marl for other cosmetics across other parts of the game.
Void Incursions
Void Incursions are the culmination of the Void Assaults and will only become active after a large number of Void Strikes have been completed inside of the zone the progress towards Void Incursions is shared across the zone. Once active players will need to defend against waves of enemies for some time after defeating all of the waves a mini-boss will spawn, once this mini-boss has been defeated the Void Incursion will end.
You can find Void Incursions on your world map with its own unique map marker to make it easier to find.
After a Void Incursion has been completed another one will spawn in the zone but will need to be charged up by completing Void Strikes. Once you have completed a Void Incursion you will be rewarded with a Field Satchel, these will contain a larger amount of Voidlight Marl, Field Accolades and Gold.
The Currencies of Void Assaults
While interacting with Void Assaults you will gain two new currencies; Field Accolades and Dark Particles. Both of the currencies are gained from defeating mobs, completing Void Strikes and completing Void Incursions.
Field Accolades is the main currency of the Void Assaults and is used to purchase all of the new collectables in the event. You can keep track of how many Field Accolades you have collected by looking in the currencies tab on your character panel.
Dark Particles are gained by defeating mobs inside of Void Strikes, unlike Field Accolades Dark Particles are not tracked inside of the currencies tab but instead are an item that will go into your bags. The reason for this is the use of Dark Particles; instead of using Dark Particles to buy any of the new cosmetics you will be trading your Dark Particles for a Field Accolade Pouch.
To trade your Dark Particles you will need to speak with Maren Silverwing on the top levels of The Bazaar inside of Silvermoon City.

Rewards From Void Assaults
Overall there are a lot of rewards from participating in Void Assaults, including all new mounts and recolours of the Tier 2 Armour last seen in the Wow anniversary event. All of these rewards can be purchased for Field Accolades from the vendors involved with the Void Assaults.
There are 3 different reward vendors:
- Maren Silverwing - Quartermaster (Hero and Champion Gear)
- Triam Dawnsetter - Cosmetic Equipment Salvage (Transmog)
- Sergeant Vornin - Animal Handler (Mounts and Pets)
All 3 of these Void Assault vendors can be found on the top level of The Bazaar in Silvermoon City.
