The Coiled Huntress is a new epic Fishing Rod Introduced in WoW Midnight Patch 12.1. This is currently the best fishing rod for the Midnight Expansion.
The Coiled Huntress Fishing Rod has the same stats as the Sin'dorei Reeler's Rod (when crafted at max quality), giving Perception and Midnight Fishing Skill. However, it does have the bonus of transforming you into a snake when you are underwater in Midnight zones, allowing you to breathe underwater and move faster.
In addition, it will also allow you to start farming Coiled Filament, a new currency, which can be used for a variety of rewards including the Sea-Dwelling Isle Serpent Mount.
Unlocking The Coiled Huntress Fishing Rod in Midnight WoW
To unlock the Coiled Huntress you will need to raise your reputation with Captain Tokka. This doesn’t take a huge amount of time but will require you to do some quests. You can find more information in our Captain Tokka Renown Guide.
Once you have reached the Bloodsworn Crew reputation status with Captain Tokka you can then purchase The Coiled Huntress from Second Mate Sluggs, who can be found in Tokka’s Folly, near the center of The Coiled Isle.

The Coiled Huntress Fishing Rod only requires having level 1 Fishing, but you do need to be on a level 90 character in order to pick up the initial questline to unlock the Captain Tokka Renown.
Farming Coiled Filament in Midnight WoW
Coiled Filament is a new currency, obtained by Siphoning venom from your Coiled Huntress fishing rod. Your Coiled Huntress gains venom every time you successfully fish on the Coiled Isle, fishing grey items doesn’t count as a successful fishing attempt.
The amount of venom you currently have is tracked on the Fishing Rod as a +Venom stat on the tooltip.
To siphon venom from your Coiled Huntress fishing rod, you need to visit Seasage Polo who can be found on Tokka’s Folly on The Coiled Isles.

Talking to Seasage Polo will give you the option to commune with the statue, which will turn any stored venom into Coiled Filament at a 1 to 1 ratio.
While you have a higher chance to successfully fish in pools, especially at lower level fishing, we found it better to just fish in the venom around the Coiled Isle. This resulted in a much faster way to farm Coiled Filament.

The Coiled Huntress is a nice addition to Fishing in WoW Midnight, keeping it interesting in Patch 12.1, and bringing a few new rewards to work towards.
