Dragonflight Pre-Expansion Patch Class Talent Builds

Similar to Single Target, you want to maximize your windfury potential and generate as much Maelstrom as possible to release it with your Chain Lightning.

In Shadowlands, for the last 2 seasons, enhancement didn't feel good in AoE scenarios, especially above 6 targets due to the cap of Flame Shock, Hailstorm and Fire Nova. With Windfury and Crash Lightning you can now feel way more comfortable on big packs and extremely good at 5 targets.

Legendaries: Witch Doctor's Wolf Bones + Unity. Your Feral spirits provide an Earthen Weapon buff which gives you extra 15% buff for your physical abilities. So, the longer uptime buffs you a lot, plus Feral Spirits generate maelstrom which is also huge.

Covenant: Night Fae

Soulbind: In M+ it is almost always Koryan. In raids with AoE it depends on the encounter. If you have a lot of extra adds during the fight then pick Koryan. However, if it is something like Prototype Pantheon then stay with Dreamweaver.

Conduits: Same as for single target.

1. Essential Extraction to stack it with Doom Winds.
2. Focused Lightning to buff your Chain Lightning even more. If you are going to run Dreamweaver you also have a slot for a third conduit, use it for Chilled to the Core. It isn't very useful during AoE, but it can be helpful at bosses in Mythic plus because with Overflowing Maelstrom you can struggle a bit on ST.

Talent Choice:

The pure DPS talents that you have to pick are Lava Burst, Fire and Ice, Frost Shock, Flurry, Nature's Fury, Improved Lightning Bolt.

All other Talents are your choice. Most of them provide utility, survivability, or movement options, so pick what suites you the most.

In the spec tree we are also going to maximize our Windfury damage and Chain Lightning damage; the Ascendance tree is super OP for that.

Overflowing Maelstrom feels very comfortable to play because on cleave you generate a lot of maelstrom with your Crash Lightning. We now want to use Crash Lightning on CD, It has good initial damage and it can trigger Windfury to each target that you hit with it.

The main focus here is to use as many Main Hand attacks inside Doom Winds as possible, because they are triggering the Windfury. In this build they are: Stromstrike, Crash Lightning’s initial hit and Sundering. Stormstrike is triggering Windfury only on your target, however Crash Lightning and Sundering trigger it on each target you hit with them.

Usually, you’re going to easily have 2 Crash Lightnings inside Doom winds. With high Haste it is even possible to have 3.

Right after activating Doom winds, you always have to use Crash Lightning by your first GCD.

Don't forget that your Chain Lightning reduces the cooldown of Crash Lightning by each target you hit.

While you are trying to get back your second Crash lightning during the remaining time in Doom Winds you should also use Sundering and Stromstrike.
