How To Farm Voidlight Marl in Midnight

Midnight brings a significant amount of new collectables to obtain including Mounts, Toys, Pets, Transmog, Cosmetic items and Decor items. It looks like a collector's dream, or it could also be a collectors nightmare. As these collectables will be expensive and you will need to farm a ton of the new Voidlight Marl currency to obtain them.

Voidlight Marl is a new currency in the Midnight WoW Expansion, very similar to the Resonance Crystals from the previous expansion; this currency is used to purchase most of the new collectables from vendors in Midnight.

Best sources of Voidlight Marl in Midnight:

• Prey
• Daily Rares
• World Quests
• Bountiful Delves
• Weekly Quest Rewards (Pinnacle Cache)
• Capping Weekly Crests

The amount of Voidlight Marl you will need to acquire for all of the collectables can feel overwhelming so we have put together a guide on all of the best ways to farm Voidlight Marl to make it a bit less stressful.

Farming Voidlight Marl

There are many different ways to farm Voidlight Marl as it drops from different endgame content in Midnight. Some methods will yield greater amounts while others will give smaller amounts. The table below shows approximate amounts from each activity covered in this guide.

You can do some of the content listed below on multiple characters to give yourself even better Voidlight Marl yields.

Prey

Prey is a new open world system in the Midnight expansion that will ask you to hunt down specific targets in the Midnight zones. Each week you will be able to complete 12 unique Prey Hunts. 4 on Normal Difficulty, 4 on Hard difficulty and 4 on Nightmare difficulty. Each of these quests will give you 80 Voidlight Marl per Normal Prey, 120 Voidlight Marl per Hard Prey and 160 Voidlight Marl per Nightmare Prey.

If you have completed all of your Prey Hunts for the week you can also start farming Random Prey Hunts. These can be chosen on any difficulty and will give you a random target to go and hunt down. The Random Prey Hunts will give you a choice reward with one of the choices being Voidlight Marl.

Daily Rares

All of the rares in Midnight will drop 50 Voidlight Marl and can be defeated each day. While not the best source of Voidlight Marl you can complete these while doing other things such as Prey Hunts or World Quests.

World Quests

World Quests in Midnight unlock as soon as you hit level 90 on a single character and can have multiple rewards. One of these rewards can be 150 Voidlight Marl upon completion. Completing any World Quest will also reward you with a smaller amount of Voidlight Marl.

While completing World Quests make sure to look out for Special Assignments. These Special Assignments will appear in a random zone and will require you to complete 2-3 World Quests to unlock them. Once you complete the Special Assignments you will be rewarded with a cache containing some Voidlight Marl and a nice chunk of gold.

World Quests and Special Assignments can be completed with multiple characters. If you have multiple max level characters make use of them whenever you see Voidlight Marl rewards in World Quests.

World Quests and Special Assignments seem to refresh every few days and can be completed while doing other things like Prey Hunts.

Bountiful Delves

Each day 4 Delves will turn into Bountiful Delves. These Delves will require you to have a Restored Coffer Key to be able to unlock the Bountiful Chest at the end of the Delve. Bountiful Delves offer greater rewards as you climb each of the difficulty tiers.

Completing Bountiful Delves and looting the Bountiful Chest will reward you with Voidlight Marl. While Bountiful Delves are not the best source of Voidlight Marl as you can only do a certain amount per day/week, Delves can be used as a great way to quickly fill out your weekly vault while also collecting some Voidlight Marl.

Weekly Quest Rewards (Pinnacle Cache)

In Midnight there are a lot of weekly quests and weekly events that you can engage in and each of these will give you a Pinnacle Cache. These Pinnacle Caches were introduced in the previous expansion and have been kept in Midnight.

Opening a Pinnacle Cache will reward you with a small amount of Voidlight Marl along with some gold. While they only offer you a small amount of Voidlight Marl it is still a good idea to complete as many of the weekly quests and events as you will quickly build up a lot of Voidlight Marl after completing multiple of the weekly quests and events.

All of the weekly quests and events that reward you with a cache are listed below:

• Fortify The Runestones - A weekly quest available by picking a faction to invite to Saltheril’s Haven in Eversong Woods.
• Abundant Offerings - A weekly quest picked up outside of any of the Abundance locations or from your adventure guide.
• Lost Legends - A weekly quest picked up from Zur’ashar Kassameh in Harandar.
• Stormarion Assault - A weekly world quest located in Voidstorm.
• Unity Against The Void - A weekly quest picked up from Lady Liadrin in Silvermoon City. (/way #2393 49.00 64.75).
• Weekly Housing Quest - Picked up from Vaeli in Silvermoon City, who will offer a weekly quest to interact with the Housing system in some way. Offers Voidlight Marl as a quest reward. (/way #2393 49.39 65.80).

Capping Weekly Crests

Each week in Midnight you will be able to gain crests. The crests are used to upgrade gear on certain item tracks. Overall there are 5 different crests you can gain Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero and Myth.

Once you have reached the weekly cap for any of the crests you will start to earn crests from the next lowest item track. However if you have reached your cap for each of lower item track crests you will instead start to earn some Voidlight Marl. Overall it will be a smaller amount but a nice welcome as you will likely hit the crest caps from completing other endgame activities.
