Like previous seasons in The War Within, players will still have access to the Matrix Catalyst in Season 3. The Matrix Catalyst can be used to convert items into their class specific tier items, which can change the secondary stats on them, keep in mind that only the Helm, Chest, Gloves, Shoulders and Legs will count towards the tier set bonus.
However, you will still be able to convert non-tier bonus items (Cloak,Wrists, Waist and Feet), to potentially change the secondary stats on the item. You may wish to convert an item that has a bad secondary stat distribution into one that has more favourable stats. It's important to remember this will still use a catalyst charge, so we recommend doing this after you have obtained your 4-set for Season 3.
Players will receive a single use of the Matrix Catalyst every other week, so keep this in mind when converting items. You will gain an additional use of the Matrix Catalyst by completing one of the following achievements: Ahead of The Curve, Keystone Master or hitting 1600 rating in any form of Ranked PvP. This additional use of the catalyst can only be obtained once per character (from 1 of the 3 sources only).
Note: When an item is converted in the Matrix Catalyst the amount of primary and secondary stat will not change, neither will the item level or upgrade track the item is on. The only two things to change are the appearance of the item and the secondary stat distribution.
