Showdown Slugger: Val Rares and Locations in WoW Midnight

Val is one of the newest zones released during Patch 12.0.7 of the Midnight WoW Expansion. With most new Zones in World of Warcraft, Val has plenty of Rare Mobs spread around the zone for you to find and defeat. This guide outlines all of their names and helps you find where each of them are located in Val.

Showdown Slugger: Val Achievement

Overall there are 10 new rares to find and defeat in Val, but if you defeat only 6 of the new rares you will gain the Showdown Slugger: Val achievement. Earning this achievement is a step towards Val’s zone achievement, A Trip Around The Stars.

All of the rares on Val can be defeated on both Normal and Heroic Difficulty World Tier and can be defeated multiple times on different characters for Field Accolades, Champion Dawncrests and Champion Track gear.

Note: Like most Rares in WoW, these rares have a respawn timer, and won’t always be alive when you go to their spawn location.

Sleet-Rune Rare Location

Sleet-Rune can be found inside of the Sleet-Rune Hollow cave to the South East of Val.

Atomus Rare Location

Atomus can be found towards the South of Val in The Devouring Ingress.

Glacial Broodmother Rare Location

Glacial Broodmother can be found inside of the Frost Chitter Grotto in the middle of the map on Val. To spawn the rare you will need to break the Broodmother’s Egg Sac.

Mercilus Rare Location

Mercilus can be found outside of the Void Acropolis towards the South of the map.

Xirah can be found outside of The Collapsed Passage towards the South Western side of the map.

Krilkan can be found patrolling around the Glacial Reservoir in the middle of the map.

Opprimius Rare Location

Opprimius can be found at The Beast Pens towards the Western side of the map. Opprimius will not take any damage until you defeat the corrupted mobs surrounding him.

Nelgothar Rare Location

Nelgothar can be found trapped inside of a block of ice inside of the Lost Holdout cave towards the Western side of the map.

The Horror Below Rare Location

The Horror Below can be found inside the Forgotten Depths. To get to the Forgotten Depths you will need to take a Void Portal that can be found in The Devouring Ingress towards the South of the map.

Once you have taken the Void Portal you will be teleported into the Forgotten Depths. Head towards the back of the cave from where you were teleported and you will find The Horror Below patrolling around.

Shadowguard Destroyer Rare Location

Shadowguard Destroyer can be found on top of a small hill in the Glacial Reservoir towards the middle of the map.
