How to Obtain Bonus Rolls (Nebulous Voidcores) in WoW Midnight Patch 12.1.5

In the week before WoW Midnight Patch 12.1.5 we are obtaining a second way to earn Nebulous Voidcore (bonus rolls), this will give players a potential of 2 bonus rolls per week to use on any desired bosses. Just like the first season of Midnight we need to complete a quest to be able to unlock the option of buying a bonus roll for either Gold, Voidlight Marl or Crests.

You will still be able to choose a Nebulous Voidcore from your Great Vault, instead of an item reward, and assuming you have unlocked 3 vault slots for that week, but you will also be able to earn a bonus roll by completing a quest each week.

This means you can earn 2 Nebulous Voidcores (Bonus Rolls) each week.

How to Unlock Bonus Rolls (Nebulous Voidcores) in Midnight Patch 12.1.5

In Season 2 of WoW Midnight there are 2 methods you can use to obtain bonus rolls, from the Great Vault and a weekly quest from Orin Straylight.

Great Vault Reward Option

By unlocking 3 Great Vault slots, you can decide to take a Nebulous Voidcore instead of an item.

Orin Straylight Weekly Quest Bonus Roll

To unlock the option of gaining a bonus roll from Orin Straylight you will first need to visit Decimus in Voidstorm and complete the quest In The Catalyst's Shadow.

Note: If you do not see this quest you may have already completed it as it was available at the start of Midnight Season 2.

/way #2405 51.02 67.83 Decimus

Decimus will send you to Silvermoon City to speak with Orin Straylight, the NPC that will trade you the Nebulous Voidcore (Bonus Roll) in Midnight Patch 12.1.5.

/way #2393 40.04 64.67 Orin Straylight

Orin believes he can harness the power of The Catalyst to create Nebulous Voidcores but needs some help before he can start his research. Orin will offer a new quest called Prismatic Potential. This quest requires you to collect 10 Elementary Voidcore Shards.

Elementary Voidcore Shards drop from Mythic+, Bountiful Delves and Raid Bosses on any difficulty. Upon collecting all 10 Elementary Voidcore Shards head back to Orin Straylight and hand in the quest. This will then start Orin’s Research.

Note: If you have already completed these quests you may see a countdown above Orin’s head that has slowly been ticking down before Midnight Patch 12.1.5.

Once Orin has completed his research, he will now offer another new quest called Umbral Blessings of the Catalyst, completing this quest will grant you the ability to gain a Nebulous Voidcore (Bonus Roll) each week in exchange for either Voidlight Marl, Crests or Gold.

Spending Nebulous Voidcores (Bonus Rolls) in WoW Midnight Season 2

With the option of taking a Nebulous Voidcore (Bonus Roll) from the Great Vault and Orin Straylight giving players a Nebulous Voidcore each week. We gain the potential of having 2 bonus rolls each week, up to the weekly increasing cap.

Bonus rolls can be spent after completing end game activities during the season, in WoW Midnight Season 2 you can use bonus rolls after:

• Completing a Mythic+ Dungeon
• Defeating any difficulty Venomous Abyss raid boss
• Completing Bountiful Delves
• Completing Nightmare Prey

Using a bonus roll at the end of any of the activities listed above will reward you with loot at the same item level that you would obtain from the Great Vault.

But generally you will want to bonus roll at the highest level of content you are able to do, ideally a Mythic+ Keystone level 10 or above, Heroic Raid or Mythic Raid to get Myth Track item level gear.

With the changes that were made at the start of Midnight Season 2 the item levels can be a bit confusing. With that in mind you can check out our Great Vault Rewards and Item Track Guide to learn more about all of the changes made to gearing in Midnight Season 2.

We hope this guide has helped you learn more about the extra ways to get Nebulous Voidcores (Bonus Rolls) in Midnight Patch 12.1.5. If you are looking for more Midnight content, check out our WoW Midnight Guides.
