Aqir Invasions Midnight World Event Overview (Patch 12.1.5)

In WoW Midnight Patch 12.1.5 we are getting a new World Event called the Aqir Invasions. These invasions will take place in either Silvermoon City or Zul’aman, rotating between the two zones each week. Aqir Invasions last for 10 minutes and start at the top of every hour. During the event you will be completing as many objectives as you can before ending the event by defeating the Aqir Monstrosity.

By completing the Aqir Invasions event you will be able to earn reputation with the new Aqir Research Enclave faction, this faction offers a bunch of new rewards including a new mount and catch up tokens for other Midnight Renowns.

Getting Started with Aqir Invasions

Aqir Invasions have no introduction quests to get started with with the event, so to get involved with the Aqir Invasions you will simply need to head to either Eversong Woods or Zul’aman based on which zone is currently being invaded by the Aiqr.

You can figure out which zone is currently being invaded by the Aqir by opening your world map and looking for the small insect-like icon on the map.

After figuring out what zone is currently being invaded by the Aqir, you can start completing as many objectives as you can before the event timer ends.

Aqir Invasions Objectives and Affixes

During the Aqir Invasions you will be able to complete several different objectives. There are 3 combat based objectives and 3 non-combat based objectives. While inside of the combat based objectives you will have a randomized mix of affixes that can aid you or make things more difficult during the event.

Aqir Invasion Objectives

During the Aqir Invasion event there will be a 10 minute period in which you will need to complete as many objectives as you can. There will only be 1 objective active at any given time, but once this objective has been completed another one will very quickly start somewhere else in the zone.

You can find the Aqir Invasion Objectives on your World Map by looking for the purple insect-like icon in the zone that currently has the world event active.

Overall there are 6 different objectives that can be completed in the zone:

• Disrupt Aqir
• Aid Defenders!
• Aqir Nesting Grounds
• Whack the Aqir
• Aerial Assault
• Reinforce Defenses

Once the 10 minute timer has ended a Aqir Monstrosity will spawn somewhere in the zone. The Aqir Monstrosity will only stay in the zone for 5 minutes and will need to be defeated within the timer to complete the event. If the Aqir Monstrosity is not defeated it will despawn and you will need to wait for the next Aqir Invasion to start, which should be at the start of the next hour.

Aqir Monstrosities can be found on your world map by looking for the purple insect-like icon with the Silver Dragon rare icon around it.

Aqir Invasion Affixes

During the Aqir Invasions you will encounter several different affixes that can affect how each combat objective will play out. Overall there are 8 different Affixes, but each combat objective will have a randomized mix of 2 different affixes.

All Aqir Invasion Affixes:

• Void Protection - Gives a chance for a Aqir Voidweaver to spawn, shielding all nearby Aqir.
• Aqir Burrower - Several Aqir aggressively burrow into the ground. Any player struck by the burrowers will be knocked up into the sky.
• Void Sphere - Void Spheres spawn around the area, trapping any player hit by them.
• Atalor’s Anguish - Astalor sends Anguish Crystals to help, damaging Aqir and players who are caught in their blast.
• Swarms! - All Aqir enemies are replaced by smaller swarms of Aqir.
• Aqir Elites - All Aqir enemies are replaced by Aqir Elites.
• Void Infestation - Aqir in the area are infested by the Void, while in combat the Aqir will explode after a few seconds dealing damage to players and other Aqir caught in the blast.
• Web Weavers - Gives a chance for Aqir Web Weavers to spawn, if their channel is not stopped they will trap players in webs.

Aqir Invasion Rewards

During the Aqir Invasions you will be rewarded for each objective you complete. The main resource you will be gaining for completing the Aqir Invasions objectives will be Voidlight Marl. This can then be exchanged for more rewards from the Aqir Invasion Vendor.

For completing and defeating the Aqir Monstrosity you will also gain an Aqir Research Satchel. This contains a bunch of different crests, Coffer Key Shards and an Aqir Research Token. This can be exchanged at the Aqir Renown catch up vendor.

Note: Aqir Research Tokens will only be rewarded for your first Aqir Invasion completion each week.
