Lorewalking is a new activity introduced in Patch 11.1.7, which helps tell the story of World of Warcraft. It’s like a scenario, where you take part in historical events in Azeroth, either as yourself or as one of the involved parties. For example you will get Frostmourne as Arthas, or be a faceless minion in Ny'alotha.
There are currently three lorewalking quests available to retell some of the most iconic moments in Azeroth's past.
Where to Start Lorewalking
For characters level 10 and above you will be able to start lorewalking by speaking to Lorewalker Cho in either Stormwind, Orgrimmar or Dornogal.
In Stormwind Lorewalker Cho is located in the north just above the Dwarven District.

In Orgrimmar Lorewalker Cho is located in the centre near the zeppelins.

In Dornogal Lorewalker Cho is located in the north just outside the Foundation Hall.

Once you have spoken to Lorewalker Cho you pick one of the three repeatable quest chains. It doesn’t matter which one you do first, and you will be able to do all three; however, you have to finish each chain before you start a new one.

As mentioned above you will be able to choose which Lorewalking quest you want to do. While doing lorewalking quests you won’t be able to complete any other quests in your quest log. If you want to stop lorewalking at any time just speak to Lorewalker Cho.
Lorewalking: The Lich King
This lorewalking story tells the journey of Arthas Menethil, and starts by telling his early years, and then his rise and fall as the Lich King. If you complete the full quest line you will be rewarded with the Royal Visage toy. The Royal Visage toy turns you into a ghostly Arthas Menethil in Lich King armor for 10 minutes.
Lorewalking: Ethereals
This lorewalking story starts with you travelling to Netherstorm to defeat Dimensius the All-Devouring; then continues to tell the story of Alleria Windrunner, and ends with our old friend Venari in Shadowlands. Once you complete this lorewalking questline you will be rewarded with the K'aresh Memory Crystal Toy. This toy transforms you into either an Ethereal or Broker for 10 minutes.
Lorewalking: Xal'atath
The Lorewalking:Xal’atath story starts by telling the story of the blade from the shadow priest artifact quest line in Legion. One cool part is you can talk to Lorewalker Cho to hear some of Xal’athath’s whispers that shadow priests heard during legion. The second part will be the questline where we found the blade in Battle for Azeroth. The final part will reveal secrets about Xal’atath’s origin. Once you have completed the full story, you will receive the Echo of the Xal'atath, Blade of the Black Empire toy. This lasts 1 hour, and gives you a chance for her whispers to trigger when you kill an enemy.
Lorewalking Rewards
Completing Lorewalking storylines will reward you with a Lorewalker’s Crate of Memorabilia.The chest contains explorer track gear that shares appearances with older transmogs.
The new lorewalking quests are a fun way to learn the lore of World of Warcraft. We hope Blizzard slowly adds more of these, possibly using more of the legion class questlines.
