Sporefall is a one boss raid released in Patch 12.0.7 of the Midnight WoW Expansion. This raid is a bit different than many previous and more recent WoW Raids, because it’s released in between major raid tiers, drops loot at the highest available item level in Midnight so far (which can’t be upgraded with crests), and is also a flexible difficulty and raid size on Mythic.
Rotmire - Sporefall WoW Raid Boss
The only boss in the Sporefall raid is Rotmire, a large fungal creature whom the sporecallers have been growing as a new threat for The Grudge Pit. This boss is a heavy add control fight, with a little bit of a challenge to it, based on our testing it is comparative to an earlier boss in the current Midnight Season 1 Raids.
Note: This was written before the boss was released on live servers and final tuning may be different.
If you want to know how to deal with the encounter, you can watch our video guide below or check our Rotmire Raid Boss Guide for a Heroic and Mythic Raid Boss strategy.
Flexible Mythic Raid Scaling in Midnight Season 1
Similar to most raids in recent WoW expansions, Sporefall Normal and Heroic difficulty will scale from 10 players up to a maximum of 30 players. The more players the more loot will drop from the boss, with every 5 players adding an additional guaranteed drop.
However, Blizzard are testing Mythic Flex raiding with this boss. This means you will be able to enter mythic with 15 to 25 players to fight this boss, and the difficulty of the encounter will scale depending on how many players are in the fight. This will be great for WoW guilds that do not have 20 people for mythic raiding but still want to give it a go, or guilds that have more than 20 and consistently have to bench players.
The extra raid spots may also lead to some interesting composition choices that the current 20 player Mythic raids are too restrictive to do.
Sporefall Drops the Highest Item Level Loot (Sporefused) in Midnight WoW
All of the loot that drops from Rotmire in the Sporefall Raid is Sporefused.

Sporefused gear is beyond the max upgraded gear item level, there is no upgrade track on the gear, meaning there is no need for crests at all. The loot's item level is similar to the Ascendant Voidcores that currently let you upgrade your Weapon and Trinkets to the highest item level beyond the upgrade track, except the Rotmire loot drops at the highest item level possible baseline.
The table below shows the item level that each raid difficulty will drop from Rotmire (Sporefall).
| Raid Difficulty | Item level |
| Looking For Raid | 259 |
| Normal | 272 |
| Heroic | 285 |
| Mythic | 298 |
Because it’s just one boss in the raid, you can’t fully gear in Sporefused loot. For each armour type the boss drops one tier slot item, and one off set item, which can be catalysed for a set bonus or different stats.
On the loot table are also three powerful cantrip items with special effects:
- The Sporelord's Mycelial Insignia trinket looks to be a strong passive trinket granting secondary stats and leech.
- The Rotmire's Sporeheart Neck and Sporecaller's Blooming Loop Ring are powerful healing and Nature damage items which could potentially be very strong when used together.
Sporefall Achievements and Mount
Unlike previous raids, this boss does not have an Ahead of the Curve or Cutting Edge Achievement. There are achievements for defeating Rotmire on Heroic and Mythic difficulty along with guild achievements for doing the same but in a guild group.
There is a new mount, the Luminous Sporeglider, which is unlocked from a weekly quest of defeating Rotmire.

For more information on how to add this Sporefall Mount to your collection you can follow our Luminous Sporeglider Mount Guide.
Overall the Sporefall Raid (Rotmire Raid Boss) looks to be a fun one boss raid to round off Midnight Season 1. If you are looking for more Midnight and Patch 12.0.7 content make sure to check out our Midnight Guides Hub.
