BiS Gear
The "BIS" gearset is running at least five 35% gem socket 'Essence Bonus' pieces (you want as many as you can get) with the best Stats following the Stat Priority listed below.
Here is an example of a BIS list but as you will end up using whatever 35% 'Essence Bonus' pieces you get, yours will probably look slightly different. Just shoot for as much Crit > Expertise > Spirit=Haste as you can.
- Helmet: Warden's Arcanehelm
- Shoulders: Ruinharrow Shoulder Trappings
- Cloak: Drape Of The Slayer King
- Chest: Ruinharrow Pounded Brigidine
- Legs: Oiled Legplates
- Feet: Cold-Iron Sabatons or Hellforged Boots
- Neck: Mark Of The Beast
- Wrists: Sacrificial Cuffs
- Rings: Polished Seer Horn + Loop Of Woven Wrappings
Relics: See Relic section below, dependent on what your group needs per dungeon
Best Tariq Relics
Relics are entirely utility focused in Fellowship and aren't unique to each character.
Relic "BIS" doesn't really exist because in the late game you will just play whatever is needed for the dungeon. However, that being said, 99% of the time you will use Sinbinding Stone, the other slot you will use whatever is needed in the dungeon, whether it be Ancient Poultry Fetish, Orb Of Shadows, or Humming Portalstone. Sometimes you will run Grimoire Of Resurrection because Tariq is the least likely to die in a dungeon out of the non tank roles. If you are looking for the best stats Relics for farming Humming Portalstone and Bloodrite Drums are best because they both provide Crit + Expertise.
I highly recommend obtaining every Relic in the game and levelling them to 330 to be able to play whatever the group needs.
A high level tier-list is given below:
S-Tier Relics
Sinbinding Stone - Grants 15% damage reduction to yourself and nearby allies for 15 seconds on a 3 minute cooldown. This Relic is extremely powerful, particularly on some of the harder bosses in the game.
A-Tier Relics
Grimoire Of Resurrection - A simple combat rez. It has a small cast time with a 5 minute cooldown. Great if your party lacks the ability to rez.
Ancient Wardstone - Instantly dispel all harmful magic effects from yourself and allies on a 2 minute cooldown.
Saltwash Elixir - Instantly heals you for 40% of your max hp on a 2 minute cooldown.
Ancient Poultry Fetish - Turns your target into a chicken. Permanently. This will work on any enemy in the game that isn't a boss. It's important to note that using this item will also remove the kill count contribution from that mob so you will need to take that into account when creating a route with this in mind.
B-Tier Relics
Orb Of Shadows - Party wide invisibility for 15 seconds on a 6 minute cooldown. There aren’t too many notable uses of this but it can be strong if you plan around skipping packs with this.
Bloodrite Drums - A 12 second, 50% movement speed increase for you and your allies. (in terms of utility is why its B-, actually has bis stats for Tariq if you're only after stats.
Humming Portalstone - Opens an interactable portal. You can only have 1 of these active at any time and there is a short cooldown on how often you can take the portal. It has a 2 minute cooldown. With coordinated play it could be useful but for most it’s not a great option. (Only B- in terms of utility, also has bis stats for Tariq. Some routes require portal so you will be using it at times)
Best Tariq Weapons
Tariq’s best in slot weapon is Fateful Basher, it's the only weapon you want to run right now.
Fateful Basher provides you with 200% CDR (or cooldown acceleration) and 20% Expertise, perfect for your cooldown windows and even better when you get your legendary cloak Drape Of The Slayer King.
Any weapon you get in the early game while ranking up will do, I wouldn't waste any re-rolls on anything until you get to eternal. You will want as many materials to hunt for your BIS Weapon Traits.
Best Tariq Legendary
Tariq’s best Legendary is his cloak, Drape Of The Slayer King. Enemies that take damage from your Leap Smash take 20% more damage from you for 5 seconds. You can get the cooldown of Leap Smash super low with Haste (and Fateful Basher reduces the cooldown), this is easily your best Legendary and increases your damage a lot.
Best Tariq Weapon Traits
It is incredibly unlikely to randomly loot a weapon with all of your BiS traits on it so this will naturally take some playing around with to get the best results. You are able to reroll the traits on a weapon so if you happen to come across a weapon with your best Master Trait then it might be worth rerolling the Heroic traits instead of holding on hoping for a better weapon to drop. This could also be worth doing with ideal Heroic traits, however the cost of rerolling the Master Traits is significantly higher both in gold and the Legend's Godstone.
The best Master Trait is Visions of Grandeur and there is no competition on this one.
So far I believe that the best Heroic Trait is Inspired Allegiance, which gives you and your group Haste and reduces the cooldown of your Weapon Ability, giving you more weapon uses and therefore more Spirit because each weapon usage is +10 Spirit as well as the CDR/Expertise. The other powerful Heroic Trait is Willful Momentum, which gives flat Spirit and when you get a Spirit refund you get a flat % main stat increase. You tend to get a lot of Spirit refunds on Tariq so the uptime of this flat % main stat is pretty high.
As for Defensive Traits, King of the Hill is a must have. Next best Defensive Trait is somewhat flexible. Personally I prefer a higher health pool over anything else butut Divine Mediation or First Man Standing can be useful.

Master Trait (Purple)
- S-Tier: Visions of Grandeur

Heroic Trait (Blue)
- S-Tier: Inspired Allegiance, Willful Momentum
- A-Tier: Seized Opportunity, Vengeful Soul

- C-Tier: Patient Soul, Kindling, Hunter's Focus, Hidden Power
Defensive Trait (Green)
- S-Tier: King of the Hill, Heart of Stone
- A-Tier: Divine Mediation, First Man Standing
- B-Tier: Treasure Hunter's Delight, Latent Resurgence
- C-Tier: Iron Spikes, Grounded Spirit, Stalwart Readiness
Set Bonuses
Set bonuses in Fellowship are either unique to a couple of regular Dungeons or unique to capstone Dungeon. It is possible to have 2 Capstone Dungeon sets and 1 regular Dungeon set in total but this is not optimal. When you reach Eternal and you're on the 330 ilvl grind, I recommend using Draconic Might + Drakheim set, and then get as many socketed pieces around that as possible, gemming into Amethyst first. Once you have enough gemmed pieces, you will revert to using the Drakheim tier set only.
Listed below are the set bonuses worth farming for on Tariq:
Capstone Dungeon Sets
- Draconic Might (Cithrel's Fall): Crits have a chance to increase Strength by 18% for 15 seconds.
- Drakheim's Absolution (Ransack of Drakheim): Your ultimate increases Strength by 20% for 20 seconds.
For Tariq, the regular dungeon sets are not worth specifically farming for but if you happen to come across either of the following set bonuses it might be worth using them in the early game:
- Eldrin Deceit (Godfall Quarry and Wyrmheart): +3% Crit and -15% Threat Generation
- Death's Grasp (Silken Hollow and Stormwatch): +3% Spirit and +15% damage to low health enemies
Stats
The Stat priority for Tariq is as follows:
- Item level / Strength
- Crit
- Expertise
- Spirit=Haste (I think more spirit over haste is better, but it all depends on what gear you get your 35% bonus on)
Item level is king in Fellowship as main stat has the greatest effect on your damage, healing and survivability.
Haste lets us cast Heavy Strike more often and more consistently proc Blood & Thunder in lightning builds, while also reducing the cooldown of several other key abilities.
Critical Strike has the chance to double the damage of your abilities. It synergizes well with our talent Spit It Out, increasing the power of our Crits further.
Expertise is a simple stat that increases our damage and healing.
Spirit builds your ultimate faster by reducing its cooldown and increases the chance to refund your Fury spenders, letting you cast more Hammer Storm and Skull Crusher in your cooldown windows.
Gems
The gem system in Fellowship is pretty unique. You socket gems into your gear to gain Gem Power, which then unlocks various Gem Bonuses. Gems come in different sizes, and bigger gems provide more Gem Power.
You can upgrade gems using Gem Fusion at Master Craftsman Braggi, fusing 3 of the same gem type and size will create the next size up.
Some socketed items can also drop with increased gem power on the socket itself, 35% on regular items and 100% on Legendaries. Because of that, you’ll want to prioritize putting your higher-quality and larger gems into those boosted sockets. For example, a Legendary with a 100% increased gem power socket is the perfect spot for one of your biggest gems.
There is also a hard cap on how many gems you can hold, once you reach 92 total gems, you’ll stop looting new ones.
Gem Types & Bonuses
The Gem types each follow a pattern of the type of bonus they provide, a simplification of the Gems is shown in the table below.
| Gem Type | Gem Bonus |
| Ruby | Main Stat / Boss Combat Buffs |
| Amethyst | Critical Strike |
| Topaz | Haste |
| Emerald | Expertise |
| Sapphire | Stats during Ultimate Ability |
| Diamond | All Secondary Stats |
Tariq Gem Priority
Our early-game gem priority for Tariq is: Amethyst > Sapphire > Ruby > Emerald > Diamond > Topaz.
In the end game, your goal is to max out the Amethyst tree first, since Amethyst not only boosts your Crit chance but also Crit damage, massively amplifying the value of effects like Spit It Out and Crack The Sky
After that, invest into Sapphire until you reach Ancestral Surge II, giving your Ultimate a strong throughput boost and some extra Spirit to help you build it faster. As well as increasing the duration of Spirit of Heroism by 6 seconds, giving you 6 seconds of +30% haste when going into your Thunder Call directly after your Raging Tempest. With the 24% Strength increase from Ancestral Surge II and the 20% Strength you get in your Ultimate from Drakeim tier, you will end up with at least 44% bonus Strength when in your Ultimate.
Finally, use your remaining slot for a Ruby, which adds 3% primary stat, 140 Stamina, and +8 Strength, rounding out both your offense and survivability.
