BiS Gear

The Best in Slot (BiS) Legendary, Weapon and Relics for Tariq are shown below.

The "BIS" gearset is running at least five 35% gem socket 'Essence Bonus' pieces (you want as many as you can get) with the best Stats following the Stat Priority listed below.

Here is an example of a BIS list but as you will end up using whatever 35% 'Essence Bonus' pieces you get, yours will probably look slightly different. Just shoot for as much Crit > Haste = Expertise > Spirit as you can.

  • Helmet: Once-Horned Helm
  • Shoulders: Sacrificial Mantle
  • Back: Frostwoven Greatcloak
  • Chest: Salted Iron Cuirass
  • Legs: Fur-Padded Leggings
  • Feet: Executioner's Unsanitary Boots
  • Neck: Cursed Golden Torc
  • Wrists: Searing Metal Bands
  • Rings: Blood Ruby Seal and Polished Seer Horn

Relics: See Relic section below, dependent on what your group needs per Dungeon.

Legendaries

Tariq’s best legendary is his boots Executioner's Unsanitary Boots. These will give you random procs that let you cast an empowered free Culling Strike, even against enemies above its normal execute threshold. This legendary provides strong prio and ST damage for "free," as the empowered Culling Strikes neither cost Fury, nor do they interfere with your normal rotation as Culling Strike is now off of the GCD.

Weapons

Tariq’s best in slot weapons are Sahril's Reckoning for increased AOE damage and Void-Touched Hammer for increased ST damage.

Sahril's Reckoning deals some AOE damage and gives you 6% crit per enemy hit up to 5 stacks (30% total) for 20 seconds. The bonus crit chance from this weapon synergizes well with Spit It Out, Left Hand Path, and the amethyst gem powers if you use them. During boss fights, it is better to wait for adds to spawn in (if they do) before using this weapon so you can get more stacks of the crit buff.

Void-Touched Hammer applies a debuff to the target that stores a portion of all damage you deal for up to 15 seconds, or until its damage cap is reached, and then bursts the target for all of the stored damage at once. This is a very powerful weapon if you want to be able to burst down priority targets in trash packs in order to enable certain pulls for the tank, as well as deal significant additional damage in ST boss fights.

Gear Sets

Set bonuses in Fellowship are either unique to a couple of regular Dungeons or unique to capstone Dungeon. It is possible to have 2 capstone dungeon sets and 2 regular dungeon sets in total but this is not optimal for endgame. When you reach Eternal and you're on the 330 ilvl gem grind, I recommend using two of Drakheim's Absolution, Draconic Might, and Torment Of Bael'aurum for capstone dungeon sets, and Eldrin Deceit and Death's Grasp for regular dungeon sets. As you collect more gems and socketed pieces, you will eventually replace your set pieces. If you are running the tier 6 sapphire gem bonus, Drakheim's Absolution synergizes well with that and can be used in your final build.

Capstone Dungeon Sets

  • Drakheim's Absolution (Ransack of Drakheim): Your ultimate increases Strength by 20% for 20 seconds.
  • Draconic Might (Cithrel's Fall): Crits have a chance to increase Strength by 18% for 15 seconds.
  • Torment Of Bael'aurum (Wraithtide Vault): Passive 4% Strength, and automatically heal yourself when dropping below 20% health once every 3 minutes.

For Tariq, the regular dungeon sets are not worth specifically farming for but if you happen to come across either of the following set bonuses it might be worth using them in the early game:

  • Eldrin Deceit (Godfall Quarry and Wyrmheart): +3% Crit and -15% Threat Generation
  • Death's Grasp (Silken Hollow and Stormwatch): +3% Spirit and +15% damage to low health enemies

Relics

Relics are entirely utility focused in Fellowship and aren't unique to each character.

Relic "BIS" doesn't really exist because in the late game you will just play whatever is needed for the dungeon. If you have the freedom to pick whatever relics you want to optimize stats, then Bloodrite Drums and Saltwash Elixir provide the most crit, Tariq's best secondary stat. However, Sinbinding Stone, Ancient Wardstone, and Humming Portalstone are generally going to be more useful in terms of utility.

I highly recommend obtaining every Relic in the game and levelling them to 330 to be able to play whatever the group needs.

A high level tier-list is given below:

S-Tier Relics

Sinbinding Stone - Grants 15% damage reduction to yourself and nearby allies for 15 seconds on a 3 minute cooldown. This Relic is extremely powerful, particularly on some of the harder bosses in the game.

A-Tier Relics

Grimoire Of Resurrection - A simple combat rez. It has a small cast time with a 5 minute cooldown. Great if your party lacks the ability to rez.

Ancient Wardstone - Instantly dispel all harmful magic effects from yourself and allies on a 2 minute cooldown.

Humming Portalstone - Opens an interactable portal. You can only have 1 of these active at any time and there is a short cooldown on how often you can take the portal. It has a 2 minute cooldown. With coordinated play it could be useful but for most it’s not a great option. (Only B- in terms of utility, also has bis stats for Tariq. Some routes require portal so you will be using it at times)

Ancient Poultry Fetish - Turns your target into a chicken. Permanently. This will work on any enemy in the game that isn't a boss. It's important to note that using this item will also remove the kill count contribution from that mob so you will need to take that into account when creating a route with this in mind.

B-Tier Relics

Saltwash Elixir - Instantly heals you for 40% of your max hp on a 2 minute cooldown.

Orb Of Shadows - Party wide invisibility for 15 seconds on a 6 minute cooldown. There aren’t too many notable uses of this but it can be strong if you plan around skipping packs with this.

Bloodrite Drums - A 12 second, 50% movement speed increase for you and your allies. (in terms of utility is why its B-, but it actually has bis stats for Tariq if you're only after stats.)
