Welcome to Method’s Mara guide. I’m Walek, melee DPS-focused closed tester for Fellowship. I was part of the 1st team to reach Eternal in both Early Access Season 1 & 2.
This guide will help you learn everything you need to know to thrive while playing Mara.

Overview
Mara is a Melee DPS who utilizes an energy and combo point builder/spender system to deal damage. She has has a strong Spirit Ability (depending on build), utility, mobility, and damage profile which makes her very rewarding to play well. However she does have a bit of a skill floor and one of the highest skill ceilings among the characters in the game. I highly recommend giving Mara a try if you like rogue style gameplay and enjoy striving for improvement.
Strengths:
- High burst with Spirit Ability
- Strong priority damage with a funnel option
Weaknesses:
- Weak before unlocking key talent synergies
- Playing around buffs is important, and tracking them can be challenging
- Mediocre single target damage outside of spirit ability window

Best In Slot Gear
- Legendaries: Wristbands Of Vexira's Prey & Assassin's Shadow-Lined Cape
- Weapons - Sahril's Reckoning & Fateful Dagger - Use Sahril's Reckoning until picking up spirit blessing synergies and switch to Fateful Dagger when you do.
- Relics - Bring the relics your party needs for the dungeon, typically Sinbinding Stone and Humming Portalstone or Orb Of Shadows

Hemotoxin Build:
Haste >>> Expertise > Crit >>> Spirit
Malevolence Spirit build:
Spirit > Expertise > Crit > Haste
