Stats, Modifiers, Traits & Gems Elarion Fellowship Hero Guide

Stat Priority

The Stat priority for Elarion is as follows:

  1. Item level / Agility
  2. Haste/Spirit
  3. Crit/Expertise

Item level is king in Fellowship as main stat has the greatest effect on your damage, healing and survivability.

Haste ticks every box on Elarion. It lowers your cast times, gives Heartseeker Barrage and Starfall Volley extra hits, and increases focus generation.

Expertise is a simple stat that increases our damage and healing.

Critical Strike simply provides the chance to double the damage of your abilities.

Spirit effectively decreases the cooldown of your ultimate. Gives you a chance to refund the focus spent on spenders and when it refunds applies 3 stacks of Lunarlight Mark on your target and 1 stack on up to 2 enemies near them.

Item Modifiers

The new loot system in Early Access Season 3 comes with huge changes in the form of Modifiers. Most items can roll up to three additional 'Modifiers' (at Regal rarity) which can grant additional Traits (Major, Heroic & Defensive, Blessings, Bonus Stats, Set Bonuses or Gem Power (Imbued Essence).

I have provided a Tier Rating for each Modifier below and a theoretical 'BIS' set-up but this will be updated as the season progresses.

The Visions Of Grandeur major trait allows us to build our ultimate considerably faster and when its rank is maxed, resets our weapons cooldown when we ult. This allows us to have it for our main damage window.

Willful Momentum gives us a bit of Spirit and most importantly provides us with a buff to our main stat when we get a spirit refund. The spirit refund then has a 50% chance to proc Impending Heartseeker because of our Legendary Signet Of Starstriker's Ascent, allowing us to take full advantage of Willful Momentum every time.

King Of The Hill is simply the best defensive that can roll on the weapon tree.

The Philosopher provides us with 10% to haste, critical strike, and expertise for 8 seconds whenever we use a major ability. We get full value when our gear gets to the point that we have 50% spirit.

Blessing Of The Prophet - II is a massive power spike and finally getting 10b Gem Power is when I start to consider the build officially "coming online" because of the insane value it provides. The off color flawless can be your preference, though I highly recommend haste for the damage and quality of life it provides.

Seal Of The Heskyr allows us to pick up 6x Topaz & 6x Ruby while keeping 10x Sapphire, only needing 2x Imbued Essence (blue) on any gear to enable this (the 6x Ruby can be swapped out based on your preference, I would highly recommend keeping the 6x Topaz for damage and quality of life).

The difference between blessings in the D-tier and any blessing in the above tiers is a night and day difference outside of potentially unique builds. Almost always worth a reroll out of while leveling if you have the dust and are going to be using the piece for a while.

We'll update this section with suggested builds for the remainder of your 'Modifier allocation' as the season progresses.

The reasoning for the trait selections are given below:

Visions Of Grandeur allows us to build our ultimate considerably faster and when its rank is maxed, resets our weapons cooldown when we ult. This allows us to have it for our main damage window.

Emerald Judgement is insane value for one point similar to The Monarch. With a single point in Emerald Judgement we increase the uptime of First Strike - II because the buff is applied whenever Emerald Judgement procs. This also enables First Strike - II to give more single target since it reapplies on proc instead of just once at the start of the fight.

The Philosopher provides us with 10% to haste, critical strike, and expertise for 8 seconds whenever we use a major ability. We get full value when our gear gets to the point that we have 50% spirit.

The Monarch gives Cooldown Acceleration to your major abilities. The Cooldown acceleration is increased by +0.1% for every 1% haste you have, up to a maximum of 5%. This synergizes well with The Philosopher and increases the buff uptime and amount of uses we get of big cooldowns in a dungeon adding a quite reasonable amount of damage by the end of the run. We run one point in this to get access to the 3% flat and haste scaling.

The Mystic grants increased power to our power abilities for every 3% spirit we have, up to 50% spirit. This ends up being close to 20% increased damage on our main ability by the time we are geared enough to sit at 50% spirit.

The Trickster provides us with 10% crit chance for 4 seconds whenever we use a power ability. A constant 10% crit chance on our main ability and procs from Signet Of Starstriker's Ascent is in my opinion the best value for the remaining 4 traits.

The Herald provides us with 50 starting spirit and enables us to ult in the first big pull of the dungeon speeding the tempo of the dungeon up drastically.

Seal Of The Heskyr allows us to pick up crazy Gem Power here, going for 10b/6y/6p/6r over 10b/10x/4x or 10b/9x/5x because of the sheer value 6y/6p/6r provides across the board based on last season and the playtest. Also allowing us to have just enough room left to pick up The Trickster.

The reasoning for the trait selections are given below:

Emerald Judgement is insane value for one point similar to The Monarch. With a single point in Emerald Judgement we increase the uptime of First Strike - II because the buff is applied whenever Emerald Judgement procs. This also enables First Strike - II to give more single target since it reapplies on proc instead of just once at the start of the fight.

Amethyst Splinters is also insane value for one point. It provides a solid amount of overall damage itself and more importantly allows us to proc the leftover Lunarlight Marks and not waste damage by letting them expire or go over 20 stacks.

The Trickster provides us with 10% crit chance for 4 seconds whenever we use a power ability. A constant 10% crit chance on our main ability and procs from Signet Of Starstriker's Ascent is in my opinion the best value for the remaining 4 traits.

Necklace Traits

Season 3 is changing the way defensives work mainly by making your necklace now have a defensive trait tree, similar to the weapon tree but with hero specific traits. These are incredibly potent sources of survivability, and the main source since defensives have been removed from the talent tree. Below you can find a tier list tanking them with some caveats stated below the list:

S
The Beetle
The Dragon
The Mountain
A
The Stag
The Dune
B
The Shadow
The Lake
The Wolf
The Viper
C
The Tower
The Oak

The S-tier holds our returning favorites from Season 2 under new names and a new defensive. The Mountain acts as a cheat death with 3 seconds of immunity on an 8 minute cooldown. The Boar reduces damage by 30% if you take damage that would deal 40% or more of your maximum life in a single hit. The Dragon gives a shield worth 40% of your maximum health that lasts for 40 seconds.

The Mountain may end up losing value in high Eternal when you need the raw damage reduction provided by The Boar and other similar traits, or if you need the duration provided by The River.

Gems & Gem Builds

The Gem system in Fellowship has changed quite a bit going into Season 3. Socket bonuses no longer exist as a droppable modifier on gear and the only way to get a bonus to Gem Power is via the Seal Of The Heskyr set which increases all sources of Gem Power by 25%.

In Season 3 only 4 items can now roll sockets: Both Rings, Wrists, and Cloak. There is also no cap to how many gems you can acquire so you end up with 4 Flawless gems and recolor them depending on what Gem Power you need. The only other (and main) source of Gem Power is from Imbued Essence on gear, each trait on gear provides 100 Gem Power.

Gem Power works in tiers/breakpoints, whenever you cross a threshold you get a buff as long as you maintain that Gem Power. Early game our goal for gems is to spread them between the colors to efficiently get as many buffs as possible while you gather more gems to upgrade them. It's hard to give a concrete plan like before in Season 2 because of the massive RNG element added to the game through Gem Power gear traits. That being said I will put an extremely general path for gem power goals below.

Spread out Gem Power -> Adrenaline Rush - II (6y (600 yellow)) -> Blessing Of The Prophet - II (10b (1500 blue))

After you've gotten to 10b you should focus on acquiring other important pieces of the build like traits, blessings, sets, etc., while maintaining Blessing Of The Prophet - II ideally. Late game we will have 4 sockets and 4 Flawless gems. 1 of those will be Flawless Sapphire along with 7 Sapphire gem power gear bonuses will allow us to maintian Blessing Of The Prophet - II. With the last 3 slots and Flawless gems we are going to split them up between Red, Purple, and Green with 1 Flawless each. This will give us the big middle node for each of the 3 types and an insane amount of damage.

Gem Builds: You can see the recommended gem builds within the 'Item Modifiers' section above. I've attached a gem build to each 'bis' set-up.
